Dodo NBN connection fee for existing Costumer. $99 + $120 for modem

I called Dodo costumer service this week to transfer my existing dodo adsl2+ connection to NBN however they mentioned they I need to pay $99 connection fee and $120 for the new modem. Is there someone who is in the same situation where they manage to get the connection fee free of charge for no Term contract and used their own modem?

  • You won't get a no-fee connection with a no term connection with anyone, I don't believe. That IS a bit higher than others we've looked at though. They've lost us as customers though. Have been with them for close to 15 years without much hassle, but properites 10 km away are eligible for their standard pricing whereas we are classed as regional, so cost is half as much again, for less.

    • Different exchange

    • Ill be staying at the same place so I initially thought that no connection fee is required.

$99.95 connection fee plus free modem while not very good it will do unless you wanted a top speed nbn still whatever you do don't pay $120 for dodo's modem as it will be the same as the one that i got when i had Iprimus which is the same modem.

  • Surely they will offer you some kind of 'reward' to stay with them? Ring up and tell them that you are leaving them…they should come to the party pretty quickly

    • Yeah, I recently left them and they started offering me discount on my home phone monthly connection fee; definitely worth a shot.

      • yeah nah, dodo dont give a shit about existing customers and why would they

they know you wont leave unless there's some debilitating problem

the lower end of the market isnt that competitve
