UMRIKA - the new Bollywood feel-good movie

UMRIKA (Hindi for America)

A small village in India is invigorated when one of their own travels to America (aka, UMRIKA) and details his adventures through letters home, sparking community debate and inspiring hope. But when the letters mysteriously stop coming, his younger brother Rama (Suraj Sharma) sets out on a journey to find him. With the help of his best friend Lalu (Tony Revolori), Rama retraces his brother’s path to find himself charting one of his own.

Set in the mid-1980s,UMRIKA is a funny and meaningful story of the lengths taken to realise one's dreams.

Starring: Suraj Sharma (The Life of Pi,Million Dollar Arm, season 4 of Showtime’s Homeland) as Rama.

Co-stars include Tony Revolori (SAG Awards nominee for The Grand Budapest Hotel).

Written and Directed by Prashant Nair (Delhi in a Day).

  There are now at least two extra tickets available for Cremorne Orpheum on the website if anybody else wants them.

  I just cancelled my two seats as they changed the start time from 6:45pm to 6:20pm and it's too difficult for me and the wife to get there on time. The email says to collect tickets at least 10 minutes before start time, but earlier is better. Orpheum Cinema don't play half an hour of ads before each screening like they do at Hoyts or Event.
