Gold Class Tickets $25 each RAC (WA) (and Links to Other State RAC Movie Deals)

100

Similar to the deal for RACV But this one includes both hoyts and event cinema tickets (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/179693)

I know the telstra and Optus deals are generally the best for movie tickets. But this includes gold class and la premier tickets, which I haven't found anywhere else. I have included prices for RAC (WA) only here as I can't see specific deals for other states as I'm not a member.

There are also lots of other non movie deals worth checking out too (JUS Burgers, AMF bowling, cricket/wildcats etc.)

For other states:
Victoria-RACV (Hoyts and Village)
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/179693
Tasmania-RACT- (Village and State cinemas only; must be bought in store)

South Australia-RAA (Event Cinemas)

I haven't been to the cinema in years. How much is a gold class ticket normally?

The website is horrible to find a price.. After having to 'book', it appears to $41 after 5pm, $30 before?

    Hoyts Cinema (Mailout)-Choc Top - $4.00

Surely it'll melt by the time you get it :D Perhaps get some free water mailed out?

I could add voucher, but I prefer it this way now you've pointed it out :)

  • Optus and Telstra are 'okay' in the scheme of things but nothing, at the moment, beats having an Amex card and a Qantas Frequent Flyer number and getting standard (2D) READING movies at $6 before 5:45pm and $8 after 5:45pm.
Or if you live near LakeCinema.Net.Au (Boolaroo, Lake Macquarie, NSW) $8 all movies, all sessions - with unlimited self-serve tea and coffee and up to two 'free' Arnotts Scotch Fingers with each cuppa. Lake Cinema is not a multiplex but rotates movies between a choice of two every 2.5 hours. Only open Fri-Sun.

    • What is this amex and Qantas frequent flyer number movie deal?

      • If you link your AMEX Card to partial or full QFF points, you get an email invitation to use Qantas's partner program for cheap movies at Reading Cinemas.
I've been using it since June.

Current offer ends Nov 30, 2015.

    • Care to share the details on how to access $6/8 tickets for Reading cinemas? Thanks in advance

Just buy you tickets here: https://movies.qantaspoints.com (may need to login to qantas FF)

      • Seems the price varies by location. The Reading Cinema in Charlestown (near Lake Macquarie as mentioned by IainLMTA) is only $8, whereas my local Reading Cinemas charge $11. Worth checking though, as this may be a good deal depending on your location.

        • The local refurbished Hoyt's has all tickets, all sessions now $9.90 per seat.

Event Cinemas a couple of suburbs away is all sessions $8.50 adults, $6.50 children.

All three chains screw the customers on "candy bar" prices.

(Personally, I can't see why people need a pile of food and drink for a two hour movie.)

    • with unlimited self-serve tea and coffee and up to two 'free' Arnotts Scotch Fingers

Wow, they are really catering well for the seniors market there!

      • It's a suburban community cinema kept alive by a retired NSW judge who devotes his time and money to the place.

You rightly assume that he caters to middle-aged and seniors. They make up much of his arvo sessions at certain movies. He also does long holiday deals every school holidays. Younger adults and teens make up the night sessions.

I moved here in 1985 and found Bob's Lake Cinema the next year. About ten years ago, at great expense, he put in new seating and sloped the old flat floor.

The best thing is that he sells "candy bar" items at lower than milk bar prices and only a trickle above supermarket prices. It's a great cinema for people who don't have deep pockets or a huge budget. I'm sure TIGHTARSE would give it a seal of approval.

Very cryptic title. Good for a crossword puzzle.

    • What should I change it too? Couldn't work out what to say

      • Sorry, just being facetious. I guess the most important thing is the it is a cinema ticket. If you don't tell people they need to guess.
