  • Whats the Gold Class Experience Package

    • I am only guessing, but it may be this … https://shop.villagecinemas.com.au/E-Vouchers/Gold-Class-Exp…

    • Doesn't say much more on the RACV site. On the Village website, its says " The Gold Class Experience E-voucher is the ultimate gift! Spoil a loved one and their special someone to the luxury of Gold Class with exceptional food and great wine. Allow them to enjoy a movie-going experience like no other. Gold Class Experience E-voucher Package: - 2 x Gold Class Admissions - Pick 5 Menu: choose any 5 items from our delicious seasonal menu - 2 x Glasses of Wine". 50 Shades of Grey is also out the same day.

I logged into RACV and it says it includes:

        2 Gold Class cinema vouchers
4 x $10 Gold Class Food and Beverage Vouchers
Valid at both Village and Event Gold Class Cinemas
        While stocks last

Means that the only benefit of this over the restricted gold class tickets is that you can use it any day/time, but if you didn't want to spend $40 on food it's a better option if going monday to wednesday isnt an issue..

  • I can get cheaper at my work through the social club, no affiliation with the cinema. I'm sure others can get a similar deal too. Not a deal for me.

    • +2

More details on your club plz!

I use the Telstra and Optus deals which exclude Saturday after 5pm. This is good for the "Any Day" tickets.

Isn't this dup? I know the two links below were expired (don't know why) but RACV has been selling movie vouchers for a while, not really a new bargain.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/170026
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/155284

    • +1

Should be in the forums as an ongoing deal, if that's the case. Not a dupe as the previous deal expired over one month ago.

      • +1

It was marked as expired. It did not actually expire.

        • -1

Still not a dupe. You could report that post and ask a moderator to open it again. Not worth it now this post has been created.

        • +1

@sween64: I'm not getting into the debate of if it was a dupe or not. All I am saying is that the previous deal did not expire and that it is ongoing.

I'd put adult normal price in the title. Upon further reading it's not that great a deal. I get the $10 Telstra tickets when I'm not using my Gold Class vouchers from Simply Energy.

    • +1

Isn't it $11 now for telstra tickets?

      • Yes, yes they are!

        • My mistake. It's been ages since I've used it. Too many GC vouchers.

    • Agree 100%

  • +1

Personally I have found movies at Village and Hoyts costs an arm and a leg!

I now watch movies at Reading Cinemas. I know there presence is limited but they charge $10 any day and you can also get a loyalty card and earn points towards free movie ticket.

I can confirm $10 price at Dandenong, VIC, Reading Cinemas.

    • +1

Hoyts tixs are also $10.50 using Optus promotion, so $50 cents more are not really "an arm and a leg", esp when their screens are larger and better (IMO).
You could also register for a loyalty card in both V and H.
If you want cheap movie tickets, there're local theaters selling $5 or $6 dollar tixs all the time

      • -1

Hoyts is not close to my place. Nearest one is 35 mins drive and Reading is less than 10 mins.
And tickets for $10.50,do you have to be an Optus customer to purchase it?
Do they have expiry date as well?
Any other limitation like can't be used on Saturday or public holiday?

        • Reading tickets through RACV are:
Reading Adult Mailout Ticket - Valid nationwide - Valid any day, any session - $11.50

        • @sharepoint: Reading tickets at Dandenong Cinemas is $10 at counter every day. No need for RACV membership.

      • You can't collect loyalty points when you purchase through Optus or telstra though right?

        • You can through Optus, I use it all the time. The voucher is the similar as buying one from RACV or Hoyts themselves.

        • you can actually, I do it all the time

        • @voldemort:

For Telstra (Village cinemas) too? If so, please tell me how!

    • Unreal, their chirnside park one here where I am, 25$ a ticket for an adult, 17$ concession..

Daylight robbery and i have reported to them many times to fix the mess on the screens or broken seats, when it first opened 10 odd years ago it was 8.50$ a ticket… How far we have come in a generation.

  • with that many restrictions sounds like they took a leaf out of Dicksmith's book

    • +1

You get to choose what restriction you would like.

  • Quick question cause my mum has RACV can she buy it for me and I use it or do we have to show racv membership when redeeming the ticket?

    • Once you have the ticket/voucher, you are okay to go. Nothing to show anyone.

  • RACQ have the same or very similar for Queenslanders… http://www.racq.com.au/membership/what-you-get/discounts/dis…

Why on earth Adult Restricted eTicket is more expensive than Adult (non-restricted) Mailout Ticket??

    • Yeah I'm not sure why the mailout tickets are cheaper than the eTickets. Is there a shipping charge for the mailout ones that I'm not seeing?

Also Adult off-peak mailout is the same price as the restricted ticket. Why you'd buy the off-peak mailout is beyond me.

    • Yeah, I thought it was a typo…

  • +1

Oh ok so student tickets for $8.50 sounds good. So I guess a tertiary student card would be ok and theres no age restrictions?

    • I used to work at Hoyts and there was no age restriction, you just needed a valid student card of any type.

      • Ok thanks very much for that its certainly cheap, looks like a great deal :)

  • Can I use a gift card to purchase them? like a event one?

    • How can I pay for the tickets I purchase online?
Payment can only be made via a Visa or MasterCard credit card. Please note a credit card surcharge of 2% will be automatically added at the time of purchase

      • Dang looks like I'll just have to keep booking online through telstra =)

  • Hi I purchased tickets they arrived in mail.
I would like to book online for seats can this be done.
    I have tried and failed
    Any suggestions welcome Thankyou

    • You will need to call them to book, 1300 555 400.

    • Hey, I'm thinking of buying some tix for a friend.I was just wondering if the tix came to you just in a letter on their own or was there some sort of RACV advertising or letter included as well?

  • yay!!

  • These vouchers can be used on No Free Tix sessions?

Also, the prices I see are very different to the ones listed above. Can someone please confirm the deal has ended/changed or I am looking in the wrong spot.
