There goes my plan of getting a bikini body in time for summer!
Can't they do this, say, in autumn when I can start to hide the fat I've put on thanks to this? Sigh.

    • +1

I'm surprised they never tried to market a Big Macaron.

  • This must be a real money spinner for Maccas… total prize pool is less than $43,000 yet you will see people spending a metric tonne more money there than usual in the hope that they can win something.

    McPokies.

    • +1

It's 43 million lol, but yeah chances of winning one of the good prizes are pretty small

      • -1

Doh! 43 million - not too bad.

I was going to list this the other day but I noticed that others had tried but their posts were deleted again. This was going to be my description (shared to offer more info without having to visit the site)…

With a 1 in 5 chance to win instantly, it's easy to keep winning with the Monopoly game at Macca's®. And there's a good chance it could be you!

    • +2

I went to Macca's today and got 8 tickets. None were instant wins, but at least I start getting my game board filled out early. I want to instant win the Hoyts Black Card ($1,000 in value)! Good luck!

      • What did you get the 8 tickets on? Not 8 hash browns I hope… And what was the total cost of spend for your 8 tickets?

        • +1

The 8 tickets came from 4 x Medium Big Mac Meals. It was just a standard lunch order. I got 2 tickets today from 2 x Hash Browns. I wanted to see how it felt paying $2.50 per Hash Brown. It sucked really, and I probably won't do it again. Mind you, I did get 4 x Hoyts Movie Tickets and $175 worth of Westfield vouchers from the last promotion, so I'm still ahead regardless of what I buy for a while. When I bought the Hash Browns, the attendant made a point of mentioning that they had risen in price from $1 to $2.50 (that's 55c dearer than last year) before she entered the order. I suspect that she'd had a few grumpy people complaining about the price. It's pretty mad, considering it's just some shredded potato. Worse thing was, they didn't salt it. A complete rip!

        • Oh, and the 4 x Medium Big Mac Meals cost $38.85 (as one of them included a shake instead of a coke).

        • @divergent:
And when you say a standard lunch order, are you eating 4 medium Big Mac meals a day for your standard lunch?! Also, wouldn't you have been better off getting large meals? In terms of price per ticket…

        • +1

@teresakhong: I wish I could eat a large meal for lunch, let alone 4 of them! No, they were for the family. It would have been a waste to buy large meals just to get more tickets, lol.

    • Wow divergent, great effort! Maybe the mods can add this to the main post?

  • I was going to stack up on hash browns but overnight they changed the price from $1 to $2.50!

    • +1

Oh, that's not fair. I was going to enjoy regular hash browns as well. Not at $2.50 each though. What a rip!

      • the highest I have ever paid for a McDonald's hash brown that I can remember is $1.95. Maybe your location has high sales of hash browns so they are trying to maximise profit. Or they could have very low sales of hash browns and are trying to make up for the lack of sales.
Either way, I knew the $1 hash browns wouldn't last forever. They were trying to get us used to them! It was nice while it lasted though.

        • hj still has $1 hash browns

        • +1

          @kima:

I buy 20 frozen hash browns for $3. In the morning, put 3 in the air fryer and go have a shower. By the time I'm finished they are ready to eat. That's 15 cents each

  • +3

Maybe people could post what tickets they have so we can work out which are the rare winning ones?

    • I have Bond, Pentonville, Kings Cross, Coventry, Strand, Liverpool. Others are double ups.

  • +2

What would be the best value for ticket #

    • I have noticed that every McDonalds has slightly different prices nowadays (unlike say a decade ago). The below list is a compilation of the highest price I paid per item in the 2014 round of McDonalds Monopoly. Some locations may be higher or lower in price. Some of the items I have never eaten (e.g. Spicy jalapeño) so I don't have prices for them. The x at the end means the number of tickets per item. The / refers to meal upgrading options.

      Spicy Jalapeño x1
      Chicken Bacon Deluxe x1
      Southwest BLT x1
      $1.95 Hash Brown x1
      $2.70 Medium fries x1
      $2.95 Medium soft drink x1
      $4.75 Tall McCafe Coffee x1
      Create your taste burger x2
      $7.95 / $11.45 / $11.95 Real choice salad x2 / x4 / x6
      $3.15 Large fries x2
      $3.50 Large soft drink x2
      $4.50 McFlurry x2

Haha, I'm the same with Coke labels. It's nice to know that strangers care about us desperate OzBargainers, lol.

      • +8

I have over 3K points coke and have never bought a bottle

        • +1

Do you rip of the labels? Or…

Keep the bottles for garden edges?

Ah I know you have friends in SA who you send bulk deliveries to!

        • @Kevan2:
          What are "garden edges"?

        • +2

@Kevan2: I recycle all my bottles through the Envirobank machine. I get at least eight movie tickets a year through them.

        • @divergent:
Me too, except I don't really buy bottles so I recycle other people's bottles and cans :)

    • Free cof by finding a ticket.. i love that. I hate Maccas but with the times i buy drive thru coffees or the occassional hash brown i have got a free Big Mac (pass), small frappee, small sundae and free attraction pass of my choice. Not claimed any yet though. Free cof and i'd be happy! Not really that keen lol Can't complain at all but i know of no one who has won a decent prize. I am not that naive.

  • +2

No instant wins out of 12 tickets. Oh c'mon!

    • +1

We feel your pain. Don't worry, you will win soon.

  • +2

I have a codes for Sony Music Download, Sports Session and Bauer Media 3 Month Digital Subscription, all of which I have no intention of using.

Send me a message if you want any of them.

    • +1

Couldn't delete the post it seems, but I've given the codes away now.

  • +1

Also, be aware that some of the boxes/containers/cups are not promotional ones already and the staff seem to place the stickers on them manually (Real Choice salads/Spicy Jalapeño/Chicken Bacon Deluxe/Southwest BLT) and may forget to add the stickers in some instances. This has already happened to me a few times and I didn't realise until I had got home with my meal, so it might pay to double check if you order any of the more specialty type of items.

    • They refused to give me tickets for my Garden Salad :@

      • +1

I'd be stomping up and down and causing a scene. When I feel ripped off I feel no shame. Usually something good comes of it. Either that, or in this case, the attendant would end up wearing the salad, lol.

      • +1

What?! It is one thing for it to be an accident, but to not honour it seems like that would be false advertising.

Especially if like me, the only reason you were ordering those particular products when normally you wouldn't is to get the vouchers (I have a feeling some of these are less popular items that generally don't sell well at all).

Make a complaint I say either on the website, or via facebook or twitter where you can expect a quicker response.

      • I have called the MvDonalds Monopoly Promotion Helpline on 1300 060 106 and they told me that the Garden Salad is a Real Choices Salad (but the kid on the phone sounded not very confident about anything). Has anybody else been refused tickets for the Garden Salad (or any other eligible product)?!

        • +1

I work at (unfortunately) and the garden salad isn't included in the promotion it's only the larger salads that feature chicken, (crispy warm salad etc.)

        • @Kawaii69:
Thanks for letting us know. But that's teally disappointing that all the employees know this but that it's not clearly stated on the terms and conditions and that the helpline call centre people don't even know the answer :/

        • +1

@teresakhong: Yeah it really is pathetic

  • -1

    won instant prize

  • +1

One coffee one cheese burger. Yes I had to ask for the ticket.

    • wait.. for the coffee or the cheeseburger? If you could get one for the cheeseburger too, that would be awesome!

      • Sadley whilst Batching as I Too lazey to cook, I purchased the 6 ticket meal, got 4 tickets.

Had a similiar experiaece before, same store, The burger was supplied in older packet box without the tokens, Reason we were out of competition boxes or a mistake was made.

I wonder if there is a daily audit of Tokens as against sales. If there is there could be a surplus at end of day……

If not same possible result ……

        Just a thought.

  • my favourite time of year, deciphering the blurred out codes on ebay listings of tickets (and laughing at people trying to sell worthless ones for $4,000)

  • +1

Four food prizes out of 32 tickets.

  • 0 instant wins from 20 tickets. lol.

  • +2

Found an instant win small fries or fruit bag on the ground in the city! Winning

  • anyone know what the rare tickets are for the ozsale 2k voucher or the jetta

  • +1

I won a sausage mcmuffin today

  • +1

    Won a sausage mcmuffin.
    Won a Attraction Pass (again).

  • +2

I won a small fries and an attraction pass.

So what exactly is an attraction pass and what are the hidden costs?

    • +1

Always a hidden catch isn't there? Free as in buy 1 get 1 free perhaps. Plus no one really goes to an attraction alone. Free marketing/promotion that's all. :)

      • It's NOT buy one get one free. It's just ONE ADMISSION. But I guess it's only an issue if you can't go to something alone (I.e you have spouse and/or kids who are also interested) or you don't like to go alone. Not a problem for me.

    • I got an attraction pass. I'm in sydney so I redeemed it for one entry to the Wild Life Sydney Zoo at Darling Harbour. I'm pretty stoked about it because I've been looking for an excuse to go! You can also redeem it for things like Madame Tussauds and Sydney Eye Tower and such :) as far as I'm aware, there are no hidden costs unless I want to take someone else with me, which I don't!

      • +1

Correct. Good excuse to go indeed :) Some for attractions like Flip out which are great for a child too. Any freebie is a good feeebie. Won 2 attraction passes myself.

        • Yeah places like Flip Out wouldn't be as enjoyable going alone! You would need a child or an adult who is young at heart to go along with you to get the most out of the experience. Really hoping I win more attraction passes!

  • +1

Just found another token with a free small smoothie … winning

And also 2 coke wrappers … winning X 2 lol

    • +1

You're making me jealous! ;) I wish I lived near a mall now.

  • Just found a free sundae and sports session.

Happy to swap the sports session with a burger token

    • and also found 2 coke wrappers too LOL

  • +1

    I won:
    - 1 big mac
    - 3 attraction passes
    - 1 sport session
    - 1 sausage mcmuffin

Only went maccas 3 times, 2x large big mac and 1x large cheeseburger.

  • Just found another Big Mac token

    Thanks again random people

    • I'd say Karma but the Karma army will attack me. Lol. Good for you. Well done. :) Maybe stay out of bins though! Yes i am kidding!!!

      • +1

i find them unpeeled tokens on the chips boxes and coke cups.

  • When you consider the amount of tokens sold over the course of the promotion, I think winning lotto is more probable than picking up any of the major prizes.

Not that I have done the maths.
