Bunnings: Will They Price Beat Special Order Items?

My local Bunnings is very averse to price beating. They gave me a hell of a time last time I matched something. Back then I knew I was covered by their policy, so I persisted.

This time it is more tricky. It comes down to how one defines the term 'stocked item': does that mean any item they sell or only things physically in stock at the store at the time of the price match request. Does it include special order items or not?

In an old whirlpool thread from 2010 people said they got special orders price matched (beaten by 10%). Has anyone tried that recently? With success?

  • from Bunnings:

Bunnings' price guarantee applies to any cheaper price found on an online store or in a physical store in Australia. It applies where the other store's final price, inclusive of delivery, taxes, fees and charges, is lower than our price.

so if you can source the same price elsewhere online or in store, they should be able to price beat.

  • Go into Bunnings and see if they are interested in price matching. If they aren't interested in matching it then a least you have the lowest price. I'm a big believer in if a company is going to offer me a competitive good price then give them your business. It encourages them to want to do it more. Bunnings isn't that cheap when it comes to shopping around.

  • I don't think they will price beat a special order item.

It's hard enough getting in a special order item even before asking for the best price.
