Suggestions for Best ISP in Bayswater, VIC 3153 ?

Hi,

Just wanted to get opinions on which would be the best Internet service provider to go with in Bayswater VIC 3153. I'm currently with TPG on the $60/month unlimited ADSL2+ plan with 12Mbps download speed, but I'm living in the Carnegie area right now. Moving to Bayswater soon (near the corner of Mountain Highway and Stud Rd), so wanted to know if I should go with someone else this time.

Would PREFER something for the same price, but the 'criteria' would be unlimited downloads @ 10Mbps+ speeds for under $100/month.

Thanks in advance.

unlimited downloads @ 10Mbps+ speeds for under $100/month.

    Optus cable?

Otherwise, your ADSL speed is going to be limited by the distance to the exchange and the quality of the wires between you and there.

Bayswater exchange is a couple of kilometres east of you, just off Mountain Highway at the shops before the railway line. There's a mobile phone tower there if I remember correctly. Hopefully the phone wires run virtually straight up Mountain Hwy to you, so you might get a reasonable ADSL connection.

Well I'm pretty sure you're with the "best" (price vs. performance) ADSL ISP, so stick with TPG unless you can get cable or some kind of NBN connection.

You will doubtless be overjoyed to know that our new PM and Philosopher Prince of Broadband Malcom Turnbullshit Turnbull has gone out of his way on multiple occasions to write threatening letters insisting that Australians do NOT get a price drop for internet speeds. This is to, as he puts it, make sure consumers don't get used to paying lower prices. No really: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/07/24/lower_prices_are_bad…

That's right: your PM, despite all the nonsense about free markets and "removing red tape" has recently gone out of his way to argue that you should pay more for internet and that da gummints should be setting higher prices through it's "competition" department the ACCC. You'd never guess it but he has a great relationship with Telstra as well. Coincidentally of course arguing that every consumer in australia should pay more for internet is GREAT for Telstra's profits.
