  • They name the wines in the deal but is that what you will receive?
Jellykingdom pointed this out in last weeks' deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/211317
Supposedly "6 Halliday 94/95 point wines".
I ordered, but am getting suspicious as 5 days later, there's no sign of despatch.

Winemarket often deliver different wines in their mixed dozen to what is advertised. I phone them up and point out their mistake and usually get a voucher for my trouble. Win win if the substitute wine is ok.

Below is an email exchange on exactly the situation Derrick describes - I got a $25 voucher (worked as a gift card):

      "Hello Enquiries at WineMarket.com.au
I received my Premium Reds Mix + 2 Wynns Gift Pack (WMM6172) yesterday. Two bottles were not in the box. They are two of the more premium wines from WineMarket's Premium Reds Mix. The missing two bottles are:
      • Chateau Grand Plantey Bordeaux 2011 - 1 bottle, RRP $21.99 per bottle- 1 Gold Medal
      • Alma de Casa Monastrell Cabernet 2012 - 1 bottle, RRP $24.99 per bottle- Gold Medal
In their place was a cheaper bottle of white wine (Tulloch 2013 Verdelho $13) and an Alkoomi 2011 Cabernet Merlot ($16).
We only drink red wine. I don't need any more white wines. White wines in our house just sit around ageing far beyond their best by year."

      Reply:
"Sorry to hear you received incorrect bottles in the mixed case. Unfortunately the warehouse has advised us that they are infact out of stock of the 2 wines missing in the box.
I am happy to key through a $25 gift voucher to make up for the switches.
      Again sorry for any inconvenience.
Please let us know if you are happy to proceed with this voucher."

      Response:
" I am happy to proceed with the voucher, thank you."

A $25 Gift certificate code was received by email the next day.

The RRP on the Rawsons Retreat cooking wine is a load of crock.

PS. These are wines from "5 star wineries", not to be confused with 5 star wines.

  • Mine arrived today. Just checked, all quoted wines are present.
