Windows 7 Upgrade kit group ordering for Lenovo

I am in the process of applying for Windows 7 Upgrade kit for the pre boxing day sale R-500 ( From here).

Upgrade handling fee is 24.26 US$. But Lenovo allows up to 5 upgrade orders per request and that reduces handling fee significantly.

Their handling fee goes down to
32.53 US$ for 2 upgrade requests (about 16 US$ + local postal charge)
40.80 US$ for 3 (about 14 US$ + local postal charge)
49.08 US$ for 4 (about 12 US$ + local postal charge)
57.35 US$ for 5 (about 11 US$ + local postal charge)

So if anyone else interested let me know. (Either I can order up to 5 and post you or otherwise).

Lenovo's last day to order this upgrade kit is February 15, 2010. Order page link to their 3rd party handler

  • if you posted a week earlier i would have taken up your offer. i just had it processed and it was quite quick in terms of them checking and sending it out. however, i still have yet to receive the upgrade kit. im assuming they are sending it from singapore.

    • Oh ok. Let me know how many days it take. I will wait till this sunday before applying.

With all the bandwidth it took to update my vista, I want to use vista for a while before upgrading.

  • I'm waiting on my Windows 7 upgrade to come from Singapore too from HP (also free but US$19.00 postage fee). Will be interested to hear some feedback once you have all completed installation. Do you need to reinstall all your programs from scratch? Can you run a new set of recovery discs?

    • I have the toshiba win7 pro upgrade kit and it will work on any brand laptop and does not require anything to be installed ie vista its activated and fully working on HP Dell Lenovo unfortunately cost 29.90 each delivered but acts like full version and is not an oem i have 6 of these dics now

also the discs are 32bit and 64

depends what was installed before, but i would backup everything up and go for the clean install then make recovery discs although they wont work as the recovery program more than likely wont support windows 7 so get the latest acronis or ghost if you wont recovery discs
