Citizen EcoDrive Chronograph Watch $160 with 20% if you use Visa checkout @ Catch of The Day

Good chronograph watch for the price. The best bit it never needs a battery which means no servicing and battery replacement costs and headaches.

The best bit it never needs a battery which means no servicing

They do still need servicing eventually…

    • Yes, automatic watches still require servicing and it's not cheap!

    • The cost of servicing and parts would make this a throw away item if repair to the movement or capacitor is required. However, it will last a very long time. Quality automatics last a lot longer and require servicing depending on use and brand of movement. Some people recommend servicing cheaper ETA clone movements straight out of the box for best longevity. You are not going to get a quality chronograph at his price point - solar and quartz only.

  • This is the best price I could find on the internet apart from a "premium ebay seller" which ships from Honkong in or without the presentation box. The RRP is over $349 at Citizen official website. In anycase $199 for a Citizen EcoDrive Chronograph is pretty sweet.

I am not sure why it would need servicing unless you need to change the strap or if you damage it because these things are sealed for all practical purposes.

Please include shipping in the title. Is $209.98 for me.

Also: AU$195.97 here with free shipping and international warranty (np box, add $4.36 for box): http://www.dutyfreeislandshop.com/citizen-ca4036-03e-eco-dri…

    • Shipping is free for club catch members. The first months subscription is free. I also saw the one on dutyfreeisland but somehow I do not trust them. Besides I am ready to pay a few dollars extra given my business is going to a local Australian company and their customer service, as per my first hand experience with them for another shop, is pretty darn good.

      • Duty Free Island are trustworthy and well known, just throwing it out it there as it is cheap for non members. Not everyone is a Club Catch Member or still have access to their trial, so many people would have to pay for shipping - similar to Costco deals that require membership.

        • But I still do not have first hand experience of their customer service. And given they are based overseas, return is not a possibility (or is an expensive possibility) and the Australian consumers laws do not apply to them. And besides with box the cost is exactly the same. I am not sure why I would or anyone else would want to buy it from them. Even if you are not a club catch member, it is only $9.99 more which I think is a great deal given the peace of mind of buying it from a local company.

        • @dealsucker: agree. cotd way much better, plus i can claim gst of massive $18 lol

  • Ok time to create new cotd acct to get that free shipping… cross that i have $10 credit so used it. my first eco watch hope its worth $199

@erwinsie Ouch! StarBuy is the website that you are thinking of http://www.starbuy.com.au/ Star Jewels is not used to promote items any more. Star Jewels is to feature the complete range and StarBuy for promotions. Prices are different on both websites as they cater to different customers. If you are to compare prices on StarBuy, you will notice that our prices are lower than any other supplier in Australia. We did not stock this model as we did not think we would ever be able to move enough quantity. Please compare items on StarBuy with COTD. That we are famous on OzBargain has made our day. Thank you.

  • Even cheaper now with 20% off if you pay using visa checkout!

$160 for this watch is a steal!
