I thought the actual wheel was for sale…like the Sydney Monorail :P

    • what Sydney Monorail?
      its been gone for years.

    • +1

The wheel is not worth $25 mate. It cost them millions to repair all the cracks that appeared in it.

im still trying to figure out the purpose of this Observation Wheel?
its in the worst spot where you get to see nothing of any value.

    • +1

yes its the worst position, all you get to see is the ugly high rise, old train yard, costco rooftop and freeway. Should have build it on the edge of the water.

    • Purpose - Something nice for me to see each night when coming back to the city from out west. :P

  • Not sure why this is a bargain!!!

    • is it cheaper else where?

Flight….has the definition of this word recently changed?

    • If they didn't noticed the structural cracks and fixed them.. the ride could've easily turned into a flight.

  • Why would you even go up there by yourself?

    • +2

      suicidal tendencies

  • How long does a flight last? Looked everywhere and its not mentioned anywhere.

    • ~30 minutes

    • A little bird once told me 30 minutes

      30 minutes
A ride (one complete rotation) takes 30 minutes and, according to the Star's website, provides uninterrupted 360-degree views of up to 40 kilometres (25 mi) "encompassing the Docklands precinct, Melbourne's CBD, Port Phillip Bay and as far as Mount Macedon, Arthur's Seat and the Dandenong Range."

Wow. What a terrible deal. Back in the early days this would not of passed as a deal,I guess desperate times…

  • For the last 4 years I could see this thing for my street, and I have never seen the thing move. It must do, but I've never seen it.

I went to an ice cream shop near the melbourne star. They had coupons on display for a 33.3% off from any single admission ticket.

"Present this voucher to receive 33.3% off all single admission tickets." valid until 18 september 2016.

With this coupon, you can get hte price down from $34 to $22.66, cheaper than this online coupon.

Also, i asked and they said it can be used to purchase a concession ticket, so that means going from $30 to $20!

The docklands precinct shopping town is the worst thought of place. Feel so sorry for shop assistants who spend most of their time unfolding perfectly folded clothes just so they could refold them and remain sane. For those loosing it… they spend time looking around their shop for invisible fying flies.

    • Dockland's is terrible; Over-priced parking, hardly any decent cafes/bars/clubs, shopping that you can find anywhere else around Melbourne and nothing of interest.

The Melbourne Star is just another bad addition to the urine soaked hell hole that is Docklands.
