        Hallelujah…?

      • Clearly you're not into men.

  • Nube question - can this be thrown in a case and work as a portable drive, or is the power to run these different to usb supplied?

    • It will work just like any drive you put into an enclosure.

    • SATA/Power cables are the same. But there are some cases better suited to SSD devices

    • It can.

    • Yes it can, but be sure to get a case with a good USB controller as there are notable differences in speed depending on the USB controller.

Make sure you get a case that supports UASP. For me the difference for read went from 180MB/s (no UASP support) to 380MB/s (UASP support).

      • Which case are you using? Looking for a good UASP one and they are few and far between.

        • I got the Archgon MH-2671. Build wise, it's nothing special.

  • is newegg any good? always hear about it but its on american focused forums like reddit threads

    • Its good.

    • It will be my first time using them, I personally don't like them because they half-assedly support Australian customers in that many of the highly discounted items no longer exist once you change the store to Australia or the coupon won't be valid any more. And the shipping costs are much higher than Amazon for larger purchases.

    • It's good when you find a good deal such as this one. There just isn't as many good deals there as in the US, especially given our current exchange rate.

  • anyone know of a SSD that is 1TB or abouts for under $300 ?

    • No, it's going to be a while before they are that price.

  • Hey I was just wondering, if i pop the ssd out of the case, can I use it with a mSATA port on my laptop?

  • The promo code SANDISKD2 has expired and is no longer valid.

Think it's been missed if anyone else can confirm

    • +1 expired or invalid code as well. Hmm if its a one day sale only, it's just gone past midnight in US.. perhaps that's why its expired ?

  • 218 delivered still a good price for the 480?

yeah but I'd go for a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB which you can get for roughly $250 locally.
