$100 Price Beat Guarantee - Coles Car Insurance - 30+ and QLD only

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Saw this deal when looking at beating my current renewal price.

If you're aged 30 or over and your current premium is lower than Coles, they'll beat it by $100 for QLD only.

Usual conditions around must be similar cover, same sum insured, excess etc.

Great way of getting $100 off your current premium.

Full terms and conditions are here: file:///D:/downloads/$100-price-beat-guarantee-queensland.pdf

I have been getting quotes for coles home insurance today.
1/3 the price of my current NRMA insurance.
Plus 3 months free intro, plus call centre discount offer,
plus double flybuy points on all coles purchases.
    Why didn't I switch before now ?

    • How do get 3 months free on home insurance with them? I am planning to take one and am aware of only the Halfoff deal. Is that 3 months is on top of the Halfoff?

      • It might be a targeted flybuys offer.
The online quote website is quite good.
You could try entering "3MONTHS" in the discount field when getting a quote.
You can join flybuys too and get extra points and 15% discount on signup.
(Sorry I didn't see your question immediately)

    • Thanks, very interesting.
When I rang with a question about buying a policy, the operator said she had to ask her supervisor.
15 minutes later I am still waiting.
Finally the supervisor came on the line - she was OK, but very keen to get me signed up and my credit card details.
I asked where the call centre was - it is in Durban South Africa.
Shifts start at 1am - maybe why they are getting terrible reviews :)
Wondering what it would be like if I ever need to claim.
      Still haven't committed yet.
May think about it a bit longer.

      • It's fair enough to shop around for a reasonable price for your insurance, every dollar saved these days counts. With insurance though you do want to be able to claim with as little pain as possible and some of the cheap insurers will give you plenty of that.
Check out Progressive Online. Their only method of contact is via email but they reply fast and you have written evidence for everything that way. From what I saw their claims handling was good even though they are a value priced insurer (for some).

        • Progressive has always been cheapest for me. I used them to then get an nrma price beat a few years back - from memory it was 10%. Then nrma jacked up their prices hugely so back to progressive.

For Qlders you could change your existing policy to progressive and then ,with the 100$ off offer then go with Coles. Then find another insurer offering price beat….
