For the fourth week in a row, Dendy Direct are selling new release films at rental prices - $5.89 to own in Standard Definition quality. This can't be a pricing error every week - it must be a secret promotion.

    I have had no luck getting dendydirect direct movies to play, either on my laptop or on the dendydirect iOS app. Would be interested to know if others had any better luck. Would buy these if I could get them to play!

    I bought Descendants for my daughter. We are actually watching it via the Chromecast as I write this (10th play?). The app usability is poor but with patience it works eventually.
    App encouraged us to download the movie instead of streaming and there is some kind of 200 stream limit maybe per device but after downloading to the ipad app it wont stream to Chromecast anymore. 200 streams wouldnt normally be an issue but this movie is the new Frozen so we may eventually reach the limit. But for $5.89 who's complaining.
    The quality is surprisingly good in SD at I think 520p. Must be a pretty reasonable bitrate. Much better than Vudu SD UV.

    Got Mad Max..was great.
    BUT I noticed on the last one I bought (Avengers) that the SD didn't have 5.1 so I'm kinda out now. I need 5.1.

    Hmm I don't know, SD? Most movies are like $5 to rent in iTunes if you prefer predownloading or google play if you prefer streaming. Watch once in hd vs watch forever in SD, I know what I would pick.

    Dendys while streaming business makes no sense. Why bother?
