Play Station 4 Games?

I bought a PS4 about 3 days ago it came with Disney infinity. I've already finished Disney Infinity so I started downloading all the free to play games but their not much fun. Can you recommend any games I can buy?

WarFrame is excellent with a team of friends. I played that for weeks are first.

Bloodborne is a very tough but rewarding hack n slash game.

Tombraider can be picked up cheap and is a great adventure.

Driveclub is also cheap and even though it was broken at first it is now a very good Arcade racer.

    • I'm downloading war frame and thinking drive club would be nice

    • +1 for Tomb Raider. Just started playing it and it's so immersive.

Story doesn't seem as tight as Uncharted but i enjoy the mechanics and gameplay a bit more.

You should get Until Dawn. It's a pretty interesting horror-thriller, and even though it relies on jumpscares for horror, it does them fairly well.

You should also definitely get The Order 1886, so you can learn how to design a game that isn't fun :D It's really pretty though, especially if brown and grey are your favourite colours. Don't forget to press X to not die for 4 hours. Boy I sure love the new direction videogames are taking.

Weren't sure you were being facetious with The Order until "so you can learn how to design a game that isn't fun". Heh, shame it was so hyped… The game looked so pretty in all those trailers

      • It was "The game that was going to sell me a PS4" for two years. Then it turned out to be under 6 hours long and no more than a glorified series of quick time events. You know; a whole game of that thing that made Halo 4 have the worst ending of the franchise. I had high hopes, too, just like I have high hopes for Horizon: Zero Dawn, which will inevitably just be another entry into 'the sandbox' genre, which has replaced 3rd person shooters as "The default setting" when a movie or tv show transitions into videogames.

There is such a thing as "Oversaturation".

Uncharted 4 is going to be absolutely amazing though, but I'm skeptical that the part from the E3 trailer will be the best part of the game. (Or at least, that's what I'd say if the game was an EA or Ubisoft game; Naughty Dog have broken the mold before.)

So, yeah, to recap, don't get The Order 1886. Rent it or borrow it from a friend, hell, just watch it on youtube, will only take you a couple hours and you'll get the same experience.

        • Buying The Order now that the hype is down, its cheap and knowing it is going to be a short game isn't a bad thing. You can pick it up cheap at a Big W / Target for like $10, thats what I did and knowing that it was a short game I quite enjoyed it.

It's definitely not on my list of recommendations though. Only if you're looking for a cheap game.

          @rhz:

Is it really available for $10?

    • Last of Us
    • Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition (for some good couch co-op or dungeon time killing)
    • Infamous 2nd Son
    • Bloodborne
    • Helldivers
    • Killzone (I enjoyed it)
    • Rocket League

    Evil Within
    FIFA 2014 ( $5) @ Target
    Shadow warrior
    Infamous Second Son
    Order 1886
Knack ( I Enjoyed it , no matter what reviews say)

      Knack

I found knack very satisfying to play as well and feel that the reviews were quite harsh since it was a PS4 launch title. Only thing I hated was platinuming it since I farmed for countless hours to get enough pieces for a Diamond Knack which is really the only way to beat the game on the hardest mode.

      • Completely true

  • Rocket League. Simple, addictive fun.

Destiny: The Taken King. A quality shooter with a decent story and plenty of upgrades to keep things interesting.

    The Last of Us.

I am surprised no one mentioned The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or MGSV.

Although you need to spend countless hours to finishing these games. However you can spend an hour or two every now and then to finish few quests/missions. It is useful when you don't have lots of time on your hand.

  • My recommendations are:
    • The Last of Us
    • Guacamelee!
    • CounterSpy
    • Diablo 3 w/ RoS - better on PC tho
    • inFAMOUS Second Son

    Special mention:
    • Bloodborne - game is really beautiful but the Demon Souls games aren't for me
    • Race The Sun - it's like Temple Run except you're a plane. It's simplistic but really relaxing and very much a "one more go".
    • Trials Fusion
    • The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth
    • Rayman Legends

  • What kind of games do you like?

I'd suggest keeping an eye out on the PSN every Thursday for their weekly sales. Picking up a game or two which strikes your fancy.

    • I like basketball games and first person shooters

      • Far Cry 4 is a pretty fun shooter. GTA V in first person mode is loads of fun as well.

      • NBA Live would be an obvious choice.

FPS - depends on what you're flavour is - I really enjoyed Borderlands. The Handsome Jack collection is a crap load of gaming but it's more slower paced (with lots of action) RPG style than your usual FPS.
