  • is Nikon D5300 with Single lens for $698, a good deal?

  • +1

The twin lens kit is a much better deal, for an extra $70 you get the 50-250 IS lens

edit: oh, its out of stock!

  • I'm happy with my 1200D single lens kit for $280 :)

I bought a Nikon D3300 SLK for $380~ after discounts, was worth the extra $100 IMO.

      • +1

Yeah I would have gotten the Nikon for an extra $100 too. At the time they all seemed to be $200+ more and I thought it would be a better idea to get the Canon and a lens later on. Don't regret it at all.

Yesterday Dick Smith Ebay were selling these for $708.49, if you bought it yesterday with the 15% off ebay promo ($100) plus canon cashback ($100) and cash rewards ($17.70) you could get it for $490.80.

  • Would this be a better deal?

    $599 - 15% (CLICK15) - 2.5%(Cashrewards) = less than $496.42 - works out better…

    • Grey imports.

      No.

      • What's the difference between cameras? It's not a phone model for different markets. The specs are all the same…

Doesn't qualify for Canon's cashback offer, no local warranty and 2 year vs 1 year. I personally would rather pay a bit more for local warranty dealing with a walk-in brick and mortar store.

@keyman: cashback -it's good, but it is significantly cheaper as a start point $599 vs $899 ($799 incl. cashback).

        • @keyman:

          Don't forget it's also TRS-able :)

  • was gonna jump on this but then figured 700D has been around this price from time to time and it isn't particularly lucrative. That is for me though as I don't particularly need one and only would jump on a great deal to upgrade my 600D ;)

  • This or a used Nikon d7000?

  • A good buy. If anyone has a broken 70D please let me know (not 700D). I'm in need of parts. Thanks
