TigerAirways $1.65 Ticket NO TAX from Singapore to Lots of Asia Cities

231

Tiger Airways is having lots of ticket on sale for $1.65 NO TAX, so that's all you have to pay

Kuala Lumpur from $1.65* 01 Jul 10 - 30 Oct 10
Kuching from $1.65* 01 Jul 10 - 30 Oct 10
Penang from $1.65* 01 Jul 10 - 30 Oct 10
Phuket from $1.65* 01 Jul 10 - 30 Oct 10
Jakarta from $1.65* 01 Jul 10 - 30 Oct 10

If you have planned your trip in Asia around that time then its great to buy these tickets, many hot routes has been sold out though.

Singapore - HCMC is sold out very quick, last time they have even a cheaper sale $1 ALL-IN. I managed to book some tickets from the last $1 sale. FYI, even though the last sale was $1 but when I book from HCMC-Singapore it is only 20c USD, unbelievably cheap.

NOTE: You should get a Westpac Debit Master Card. CBA Debit Master Card is a total rip-off with exorbitant high foreign exchange fee (because of the $1 fix fee portion + they even charged for AUD fare in some cases).

  • it cost u more to do price beat with jetstar, coz u need to call their call centre, which is extra cost

    http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/travel-info/family-travel/flyin…
    * Telephone bookings attract an additional $25 per passenger, per international flight booked and $15 per passenger, per domestic flight booked. Telephone booking fees do not apply to Jetstar Holiday bookings.

    • Yah, I was just making a joke, didn't really mean getting Jetstar to price beat. Beside, you'd better book with Tiger Airways and pay with Master Debit card and incur no credit card fee with Tiger Airways.

I also highly recommend you guys to open a Westpac Bank Account and get their Debit Master card for Tiger Airways booking. Also be warned not to use CBA Debit Master Card, it is a complete rip-off with exorbitant foreign exchange fee. Only Bankwest Debit Master card is as good as Westpac in term of foreign exchange fee.

      • hmm, do you mean, tiger credit card merchant system in singapore? not in australia? therefore u guys get charge for foreign transaction fees?
or are u talking if u purchase overseas destination?

        • maybe things has changed or it happened with airasia before, I can't remember anymore because some ppl has been charged f/x fee even though the fare is in AUD with ANZ and CBA (note most of OZ banks have changed the charging scheme to charge those AUD transaction if the acquirer is not in Australia).

Maybe AirAsia and Tiger Airways has changed their merchant account for AUD transaction by now, but still better be safe and stay away from rip-off bank (i.e ANZ and CBA). The fee of 2.5% from Westpac and BankWest is still far less than the "convenience fee" charged from Tiger Airways. Your ticket needs to be $240 to make it even with the rip off $6 convenience fee. (this is per passenger sector).

    • Actually, Jetstar don't charge the phone booking fee or a credit card processing fee when you are price matching. Maybe not in this case, but generally, it's a very useful service - particularly if you don't have a MasterCard Debit account.

  • I don't believe you can use a Debit MasterCard and avoid the "convenience fee" as using a Debit MasterCard only avoids it for Australian domestic flights.

EDIT: Actually, it seems to let you even though it claims that it's only for Australian domestics in the little fee box on the left.

    "Latest Deals (from Singapore)"

    This is worthless!

    • +1

What about Australian's and Ozbargainers who will be in Singapore during that period? Is it worthless to them?

      • if that's the case, maybe we should be include cheap pizza deals in new york just in case some in oz may go there.

Also to get to singapore from anywhere in australia you have to get to Perth first!

        • +1

I was at the zoo in Singapore. They picked 3 people at a show at random to the stage. All 3 were Australian. I think you'll find that a lot of Aussies end up in Singapore for one reason or another being a major stop over destination. You can't really compare cheap pizza deals in NY as its not the same thing. For example, if I had wanted to find the cheapest fare from, say, Sydney to Penang, I might find those $1.65 fares handy to combine with a Sydney to Singapre fare on Jetstar.

        • Great analogy and comparison. Not.

    • Definitely positive, if it's not for you, Brutus, it may apply to other ozbargainers.. +1 for me for samehada

Brutus, pull your head out of your ass, there is a reason why it had 15 votes before you came here.

Many, perhaps most, who travel to Asia travel to more than one destination.

fenerli you are entilted to wrong opinion (just like you I'm entitled to mine), so get your head out of your arse!

    • maybe for you but for those who need it then it is a real bargain.

  • heck i'ld buy a ticket just in case i felt the urge to travel during that period
    sweet deal.

Singapore is the nearest hub to Australia. At least 30% of people flighing throuh or to it. NY is on the other side of the globe and you can go to US Web bargain sites to find good deals there, as they speak English as well.
Just as an example. If we had cheap flights from Singapore to let's say Prague it would be very relevant to our site, cause it is definitely on the way to Europe. But if they would have cheap ones for flights from NY to Prague, would you travel all the way to NY to take that flight. The answer is no for 99.9% of ozzi.
    Great deal. Voted positive.

Forget Bankwest. Got charged foreign fee ?2% even for domestic fares within Australia.

    • thats mean, this tiger has credit card merchant system in Singapore or somewhere. Could you please check on your credit card statement. it will show normally, where is their location. if it not in Australia, it will show the country after the name of the company. thanks

    • Maybe you are right, I guess BankWest is no better than CBA for charging for fares in AUD. Since I couldn't verify this, I have get rid off BankWest in my post. I only leave Westpac there because even if you get charged like with BankWest, the fee for such charge (AUD fare) with Westpac is lower.

  • Tried to book Singapore - Jakarta on 05/07/2010 and the price shown with tax?? Any idea why??

    • The sale fares will show up as "NO TAX" on the flight selection page. Any other fares, even if they show $0.00 or $0.09 are not these particular sale fares and are subject to tax at the next stage.
