I picked up one of these jackets in Black when they were on sale for $54 back in July: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/203808 . Awesome jacket for the price, very warm, good quality. Was initially $180, down to $90 in June, down to $54 in July, now down to $49.

    Bought one last time ….. great jacket for the price. I have other down jackets from Mountain Hardware, and Mountain Design, and the quality is comparable. Sizes are generous, I bought the small, and there is still plenty of room for a fleece and other layers (i'd usually be a tight small, or medium in other brands).

    This also looks like a bargain, albeit in limited sizes and stock.

    Would be perfect for winter travel in North America or Japan etc, where a hood is a must, and goose down is preferable.

    The pictures make them look like they are slim-fit; which is great, are they?

    How does the quality compare with a $200 Kathmandu or North Face?? Anyone with experience?

      The gents are not really slim fit, if anything the sizing is rather generous. There is more discussion re quality and sizing in the previous deal where this jacket was discussed.     I would recommend getting a size up. I normally am a medium however purchased a large due to mediums being sold out. I'm glad I did as the large fits perfectly. At this price is an absolute bargain I reckon better than Katmandu. It fits better without being too bulky.
