Free $50 Crown Giftcard Use in Melb or Perth Requires Crownbet Account and Crown Rewards

Hi all, This couldn't be posted as a deal but maybe its safe on here? I think its worth mentioning.

https://promotions.crownbet.com.au/afl-5000-bonus/

Using the deal you can get 5000 rewards points which can be exchanged for $50 giftcard or $50 bonus bet.. giftcard is probably the better deal unless you are a avid punter. Points take about 5mins to be deposited.

Hopefully I haven't aided in any Ozbargainers future gambling problems.

Also for those in melb copied below from whirlpool:

Even better, you can convert to real cash with a little bit of effort. If you're in Melb and have a Signature card, rock up to a VIK machine at the Crown and redeem your 5k points for a $50 Table Play. It will print out a special voucher but it isn't the usual barcode voucher that you win from the pokies. You'll have to go to a table dealer where they take your card & voucher and they manually punch numbers on their dashboard. They then hand you $50 of actual chips. Cash in those chips at the cashier. Head straight for the exit without being tempted to gamble.

  • I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to post gambling deals, but the $50 voucher that I got can be used at any of Crown's bars or retailers or hotels, so it's a grey area because you need to have a crownbet account to access it!

  • So how do you set up a crownbet account? I started the procedure and it tells me I need a crown signature club membership. It's not clear what that is because through google there's a link to crown signature club melbourne but only crown club perth. Crown signature club melbourne requires you to attend an information session with your ID, and a similar thing for the perth 'non signature' club (if there's any difference).

Plus, when I follow the links to create a cownbet account before creating a signature club account there are two tabs at the top that says 'deposit' and 'validate'. Do you have to spend money charging up the card for this?

I guess what I am getting at is: is it possible to get this for free and just how much effort is required?

It took me 5 mins to do..no deposit required. U need to make crownbet account first can do this on crownbet home page.. then follow link i posted above and join signature club through crown bet click accept term and condition. After 5 mins u should see 5k points in your crownbet rewards wallet. Oh.. you don't need to do the ID thing. I have had two friends go through the process with no issue.

      • works like a charm..thankyou!

      • Cheers I'll give it another go.

  • Thanks OP!

  • Thanks for that 28kb

  • Any fees associated with being a crown signature club member? Totally new to me

  • I got emailed the deal yesterday because I have a Crown betting account. It was a piece of cake to link to crown signature club and get the 5,000. If you like a small punt, then the 5000 points can easily be converted to 1 x $50 bonus bet or 2 x $25 bonus bets. Note in NRL one team always wins (because they have golden point, there can never be a draw) And so there are creative ways to use the bonus bet(s) wink wink.
Also note, usually you have to turn over the winnings of a bonus bet once. You do not get back the bonus bet in cash. EG $50 bb @ $2 win gives you a result of $50. That is considered to be your cash. but you have to bet it again. So if next bet is $50 again @ say $1.50 & wins - then you will have $75 which you can cash out.

    • because they have golden point, there can never be a draw

hah..I was trying to understand why the 'odds' for an odd game score were so much higher than even when trying to figure out my prediction for the ozbargain competition, having never watched a game of rugby before.

Cheers for posting this 'deal' OP.

It's a shame that gambling has such a stigma attached to it and stupid Government legislation such as the live in play betting ban and bonus offer bans in certain states.

  • Still hasn't worked for me :(

  • Isn't working for me - requires a licence number/passport number to verify identity

  • Thanks for posting OP :)

Thanks for posting. Did it all for my wife's account and she got the 5000 points within 5 mins. Did exactly same process for my account and was told it would take 3 days for my Crownbet application to process.

  • A $50 bonus bet is worth significantly less than $50 cash (about $35 on average), so it is better to do as the OP suggested to cash out. Can you do the same at Crown Perth?

  • Note gift card gets posted out to you.. I am unsure if we can do it at crown perth

  • Cheers claimed :) Nice and easy, no need for ID. Claimed for a Crown GC, should work in Perth!

    • GC came today, express post! :)

  • Thanks so much 28kb!

My gift card turned up yesterday! My fiancée received one too, so we plan on using them during our trip to Melbourne next month.

  • have they changed it? I can't seem to get the giftcard, where do u redeem the points?

  • Those who redeemed the gift cards.. did you get an order confirmation email? I redeemed the gift card but haven't received any email confirming my order. There also doesn't seem to be a transaction history on the website itself. The points, however, have been deducted from my account. Hoping the gift card will eventually turn up.

  • friend of mine received hers after a few days

It keeps redirecting me to verify the account? (ID)
Have they fixed the issue or am i doing something wrong?

    • I think they have changed it and now require ID to verify the accounts

  • Now it's changed to the Spring bonus. Got my 5,000 points with a NSW address, no ID verification required (or at least, it seemed to work instantly for me).

    • Strange, it says it excludes NSW & WA. Also not valid for current accounts, although I joined up because of OP's deal, it said that current members got the deal as well

  • Having bought Crown Gift cards from recent scoopon deal, thought it is a great time to sign-up to the Crown Signature Club. And what better than to get another $50 giftcard :-)

So I have successfully signed up, and even redeemed the $50 online. Now, all I am looking for is info about my membership to the Crown Signature Club - so I can accumulate rewards when using the giftcards.

    Went to Crown Login:
    https://www.crownmelbourne.com.au/member-portal/login

and this asks for a Crown Signature Club Card Number.

Where can I find my signature club card number? Within the Crownbet account?
Or will this card be posted out to me in the coming days?

    Any info appreciated. Thanks.

    • OK got it sorted out. For others' benefit, you can find your Crown Signature Club membership number under Rewards tab of Crownbet account. I was told I still have to visit a membership kiosk at Crown to have my ID validated for the Signature Club membership. And a physical card will be provided then.

  • Seems like this promotion doesn't exist anymore. That's a shame

edit: Actually it still appears on the mobile version of the site! I just tried it (with a NSW address as someone above reported it worked) and the 5000 hasn't appeared in my account yet. Damn. I might give it a bit more time.

I also tried with a VIC resident (on their behalf) and it hasn't appeared yet either. We'll see how this goes.

    • It has expired. It was only during spring carnival…

    its back…

    • ends 31st march 2017. I wonder if you can delete account and make new one.. and be eligble

    • Cheers again for the reminder :)

Offer appears to have been reduced to 2500 Crown points (or 1250 Velocity) now. Makes it pretty useless if planning to redeem for Crown giftcards, as the minimum denomination is $50.
