Do you know where they are made?
    Not Vietnam, I hope.

    • Don't know sorry. Only posted after seeing the email.

    • +3

      Singapore

    • +1

      What's wrong with Vietnam ?

    • LOL.
      I'm Vietnamese.
And I'm voted down for doubting that Vietnamese beer made be good.

It is sort of like would people prefer a Samsung flagship phone made in Vietnam or in Korea. Me? I'll try to buy mine from the first lot where they were made in Korea rather than waiting a bit later for the price to drop, then find out that the thing was made in China or Vietnam.

I'm not a drinker, but I myself and my Vietnamese friends will sure chose to buy the same brand of beer that are made in Thailand or Singapore rather than Vietnam.

      • No. I think you were voted down for making a judgmental statement. Your question is valid but your rhetorical statement is not. Asking for where the the beer is brewed is fine, but you made judgement. What if someone else prefers Vietnam brewed Tiger?

You need more education and kept yourself updated on developments in China & Vietnam

      • It's sad that you called yourself Vietnamese, 333 and Beer Saigon are wonderful beers :)

        • +1

I know. I feel sad too! Tiger, 333 and Beer Saigon were loved and enjoyed til the fall of Saigon 30/4/1975.

I was a kid then, but still remembered that we had a lot of emptied bottle, proving that my father loved them.

I'm not sure of the quality of Vietnamese exporting beer now, but my trips to Vietnam saw me dislike their beer there. Even with Heineken (my second choice after Crown Lager) made in Vietnam would taste inferior to the same brand one made in Thailand.

        • @hluu0111: So have you tried Beer Ôm in Vietnam ? I bet you love it, haha

        • +1

          @Marcsie:
No, I was and am insanely good husband. (And you did not read the part where I stated that I'm not a drinker. So, it is only to ôm or not to ôm …

        • @hluu0111: If you are not a drinker, so how do you know that the beers that make in Vietnam are not good ? So you love Beer Om, coz "All you can om" ? lol

I went to buy some this afternoon and there was a 3 hour delay with the cartons, the bottle shop attendant was nice though, for the measly some of $25 he let me wait in a crappy chair and gave me a sandwich.

    • measly some of $25

      Sum

    Nice refreshing beer.

A case of Tiger beer are regularly on special at Costco for $36. Besides that, I find it a litle too sweet. But that is personal taste. I do have some fond memories of tiger beer in Malaysia. I remember being in a hotel room full of tiger beer, but didn't have a bottle opener. The cap is on so tight. I tried to use a fork, spoon, chopsticks to open it. In the end I stuck the cap between the closet handle and opened the beer. The beer went everywhere. Hotel room smelt like beer for days. You would be surprised how hard it is to find a bottle opener in Malaysia.

    • I remember being in a hotel room full of tiger beer, but didn't have a bottle opener.

Why not just call room service?

      • +3

I did, but they didn't have one available. I was in a cheap hotel. Also Malaysian's aren't allowed alcohol. After ravaging through few super markets I did find a bottle opener, but it was very expensive. I think it was $8 for a very cheap bottle opener. I still have it as a souvenir.

        • You can use pretty much any hard edged object as a bottle opener. Back of a knife, back of a cigarette lighter, a Nokia 3310…

        • @xyron: I tried, these tiger beers are capped on strong. If you take a look at the cap of most beers, it is at most 90 degrees to the bottle. The tiger beer caps claw in into the top of the bottle. Claw, bottle, tiger…. hehe.

      • +5

obviously if the room was full of tiger beer there wouldn't have been space for a telephone to call room service.

        • obviously the beer wasn't for him, but for tigers.

Lol I did the exact same thing on a door frame in Bangkok, beer went everywhere and it stunk out the hallway. The hotel staff were rude to me beforehand so I couldn't be bothered asking them and didn't feel bad about it. Better remember to take this next time.

    • +1

You know you can open a bottle with another bottle, right?

Due to liquor laws, only available instore in NSW, ACT and VIC.

Show me where in the Liquor laws does it state that Tiger Beer can only be sold in NSW, ACT and VIC ???

    • +2

In the other states they sell them outside the store.

    • +1

I think they mean it can't be home delivered.

      Could be wrong.

      • you're a quick one!

    • Other states aren't alcohol in Aldi and not available online.

But I'm sure it's just a gee up anyway. ;)

don't be lazy, you need to keep looking until you find it.

I love Tiger Beer, one of the best beer from South East Asian countries :)

    • +1

I wouldn't go that far, but I find it a good beer and I think the price is good too.

    • I love Tiger Beer

Have you tried Elephant Beer ?

      • Yep, I did, I also actually tried Monkey Beer as well :)

  • got 1 yesterday
    good beer tastes more malt

    • +1

      good beer tastes more hops

  • It is Tiger time !!!

  • Tiger Kills :)

  • wow cheap as

  • Could you price match this at other stores like Dan Murphy's?

    • They look like actual 12 packs, ao not an identical item. I would price beat it with 2 6 packs, but it would depend on the store.

      • Huh ? 26 packs ? lol

        • He/she meant 2 of 6 packs.

          1. you are intelligent and knew Soluble meant two 6-packs and you were having a joke. Haha
          2. Not 1.
        • @Lavec: 3. ?

  • Is this any good ?

    • yep…

    • As good as Singha?

  • It's Tiger, it's good :)

  • Mmmm I like to put this tiger balm on my inside!

    • Inside ? Haha

  • I'd run 6km for a free 6 pack of this.

There's something different about Tiger beer here in Australia. When I'm in Malaysia, I'll drink 2 or 3 cans and be on the verge of drunk. When I drink it in Australia, it doesn't affect me. Not sure whether it's because it's made any differently for export but it certainly doesn't have the same effect!

    • The weather? Anyway, Liquor Shed Jandakot W.A. should still be $40 for 24 x Carton

    • export and local quality are different.

try TsingTao in china and here, huge difference

    • Similar experience here @Cyphar.
IMO Australian Tiger Beer tastes like tiger piss. Tiger Beer in Singapore is great.

  • Probably won't have any stock. The real downside of Aldi.

    • You sound like a 'the beer is half empty' kind of person :)
