why anyone would pay for this when it is so easy and harmless to torrent it is beyond me.

Don't anyone tell me that Microsoft deserve the money, they are extremely wealthy as it is, and they only use their profits for ill purposes anyway. (such as buying out companies and making video games exclusive to their systems)

We're all bargainers here, what would you rather spend $15 on the imaginary satisfaction of giving a small sum of money to a 79 Billion dollar company, or would you prefer to spend it on a meal? I know what I would be more happy to put the money towards.

    • Well Sharing something that is supposed to be 1 person/5 devices between 5 people really isn't that much different to piratebay, except that you don't need to install a crack for it.

  • why not just pay $15 for Office Pro 2016? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214028
You need someone with iinet email :P

    • i have been using open office on my new laptop (had not sorted office out ye) - I am struggling to justify even spending the 15 bucks… between open office and google docs - cant really say I need much more :P

      • Open office is fine for most stuff, however what makes MS Office strong and useful is their 3rd party extensions.. Abit like Windows.. without 3rd party software, it is really just a good looking GUI..

    • using an iinet email loophole has been sealed.

I don't think it's good idea to share with strangers :)

  • Why not just get office 2007 for $8? or 2013 for $30?

    • are they legit? I hope they are not using keygen.

that subreddit has been operating for ages. hundreds of feedback

        • Back to the original question… Are they legit?

Let me answer this one for you. No, it is not legit.

        • @Drew22:

My understanding is that they're just volume licensing keys. So the fact hes reselling them probably means hes violating the ToS with MS. They do however, activate fine, and people continue to use them without issue.

Even if the key was cancelled, it would only need to last <1 year to break even. 2 months for office.

If you bought a win8 key, you can upgrade to win10 legally, meaning a previously "non legit" key would be legit. (assuming you believe it's no legit)

A normal example i think of is bulk buying cocacola from coles, then reselling them at your own store. You don't have a distribution agreement/contract with coke, but it's still a coke.

        • @Davo1111:

Fact is, they are not reselling VL keys so your coca cola and coles analogy does not work.

They are most likely to be MSDN keys, which are for non-production use i.e. development and are most certainly not for resale. Thus, they are illegitimate.

        • if you're going to buy dodgy keys you may as well go the whole hog and pirate it

@tonyjzx: ^ This. And at-least you're not involving money & sharing financial/account details (even PayPal).
