Incorrectly catagorized laptops on the DELL Outlet, are they good prices?

Hey all,

Full disclosure, I run the doutlet (www.doutlet.xyz) and I saw some machines pop up in the OptiPlex category. This struck me as strange. Turns out that they're miscategorized Alienware laptops :) They seem like they're pretty good prices. They would likely bear some resembelence to this: http://www.dell.com/au/p/alienware-15/pd

I've just noticed that they are refurbs. Still DELL refurbs are still pretty good quality, and they have one year DELL warranty

The main link is here: http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…

This is an example of whats on sale: (also can be seen at http://doutlet.xyz/Devices/DeviceInspector.aspx?DeviceID=DFO…)

Dell Warranty 1 Year

$1499

Theres quite a few different configuration options. But I think that a laptop with 16GB of RAM and a NVIDIA GTX 970M for $1499 is a pretty sweet deal.

The rest of the machines can be viewed at the DELL outlet or on my website for a slightly cleaner look: http://doutlet.xyz/Categories/CategoryInspector.aspx?Categor…

  • you could provide the direct link as well.
I'll be honest and say I prefer the dell site to yours simply 'cos I can scroll down and see /compare all the specs rather than click for more info on yours.

I bought a dell refurb from them about a year a go. Half the normal price and was like new.
The only thing was that I couldn't make a backup from the hidden partition (there wasn't one), contacted Dell and they sent me a USB with Windows 8.1 on it.
Warranty is the same as new, you have 15 days to return it if you don't like it.
    Wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

    • Yeah I understand that. The reason behind the design is that I find, with the normal Dell outlet site, when there's 40 different computers on the page it can get chaotic. It gets worse on mobile phones. Plus I never would have thought to check categories that should definitely be empty!

But I do understand your approach :)

      • I am also not saying the dell site is great cos its not. Would be great if they linked to at least a photo of the item so you know if its a current shape etc.

yep, weird the alienware are in there, also most others are empty.

        • +1

It's usually slim pickings on a Sunday. It usually booms tomorrow morning. I've seen up to 40 latitude laptops for sale.
