  • Yeah I have that, engine is good, alloy base for no rust and with a plastic hard catch.

  • +1

I bought a cheap electric mower second hand to do around the same area. Just used it as an experiment. The cord is a bit annoying, but the mower is quieter, will always start and doesn't require me to store fuel at home nor mix oil (got a battery whipper sniper too) Now I'm used to a different pattern of mowing to not run ove the cord I doubt I'll get a petrol mower again unless I move to a house with a ridiculously big yard.

  • Stick with Briggs & Straton or Honda engine mowers and you should be fine.

  • Buy a lamb. It will fatten up and keep the grass short. After 2 years…..

    • Buy a knife, a freezer and another lamb?

  • Personally, I'd spend a little extra and get a Masport like this one:

Main reason is the ability to mulch or catch the lawn. I've been using a mulching mower for years and would never go back to a 'normal' one.

  • I just bought a rover mower off ebay advertised as "faulty" and not starting. $3. got it home and checked the carby, fine - fuel was pumping when priming. checked the spark plug - had spark. took off the metal plate covering the carby and the the governor spring (the spring between the carby and feul regulator) had come off. popped it back on. pull started and my $3 lawn mower is running.
