This would normally be a decent deal, but with the 24% off on ebay phones at the moment, IMO the ~$200 savings on grey stock probably justify the risk taken to import and copping 12 months less local warranty.

    YMMV.

This is AU stock with 2yrs samsung warranty, you just assume small player don't sell AU stock. Mobilecity is known to here quite sometime.

      • Wat?

        • I would stick to local stock…maybe just me, my previous and current Samsung all died just before the 2 year warranty mark…walked into the Samsung store on George St Sydney CBD, no hassle questions asked, got replacement phone ( factory refurbished of course) within 30 minutes…value? more than $200 bucks….will I still buy a Samsung given the quality ? maybe.. but only for Note 5 64gb local stock if it will ever available….

    • which store sell galaxy s6 128gb for 20% off ?? can only find 32gb or 64gb

  • Kudos for the store rep posting the deal rather than TA for a change.

Agree. We appreciate the initiative. Mobileciti was quite active a couple of years ago. They even had nice deals on iPhones back then

  • It would be on the ugliest s6 colours :(

    • Yeah the white edge 64gb was $688at JB recently too. Not the most competitive prices around..

      • Decent deal on the non-edge versions, but tbh not good enough to make me bite. I'd rather hold out and get the colour I want, and with the prices dropping it won't be long now.

But thank you, OP. Love your work.

        • Btw did Op come up with this deal or did he negotiate with TA behind the scenes? Just to clarify since TA has been posting every MobileCiti deal for two months now.

        • @ShamelessBargains: Don't know. I posted asking for a s6 non-edge deal on the other post like 2 hours ago, then this showed up.

        • @spazmo: Wow they are on the ball, good to see active store reps :)

        • why will the price drop? nexus 5x? I'm after a phone with 128gb. seems like a good deal to me?

        • @thepigs: Because life. Their sales haven't gone as well as they were hoping, the plus versions are now out as well as lots of other competitors, the prices have been dropping steadily over the last couple months, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a big push with holidays sales.

It IS a good deal, and I'm seriously considering getting one myself if I decide I can live with blue or gold. If it seems like a good deal to you then get it.

$688 was w/Trade-in, you may have to spend sometime read T&C.

        • +4

The trade in was also done with phones as low as $10.

        • +3

Yeah a $10 phone from Coles does the trick and its still under $700. Unless JB were selling these at a loss, surely you can go cheaper than your current prices?

  • S6 Edge Gold 64gb please, rep :)

  • OP can you a similar deal on the Samsung Note 4 N910G?

  • No love for S6 non-edge? Keen to click Buy It now on G920F for $575 :/

    • I hope you aren't on Optus or Telstra - there's no band 28 support on the G920F.

      • Wouldn't Australian stock support Optus and Telstra?

      • I'm on Optus. Isn't Optus also using B3 1800MHz?

        • You won't get 4G plus on G920F model

it says netowrk branding 'Vodaphone'. What's does that mean? Can you remove it?

    • you can only remove it by flashing another rom version. E.g the XSA rom version, which is unbranded.

    • S6 vodafone branding only come with 2 preinstalled voda apps, you can uninstall it.

      • Rep, what about android updates? Would it work just like an unbranded phone or would we have to wait for vodafone to release its version of updates?

        • You have to wait vodafone release the update, as far as i know should be uptoday.

        • +1

They've been pretty much on par in terms of update speed, Vodafone firmware and unlocked firmware are on same iteration at the moment. I can't say for certain whether it will stay that way. That said since it's same model, you can flash the firmware for the unlocked model using Odin (as far as I know, this doesn't trigger KNOX counter or anything like that as you are flashing official firmware)?

          http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920I/

^Just search Australia (It's not that accurate in terms of date (the update listed for 1st October was released today, but at least, you'd see that we are on par if you look at PDA). That said, since I've been constantly checking it (as I knew the update was going to include several features from note 5), I wouldn't say that Vodafone and unlocked phone are far off in terms of updates.

    • thanks for this, just about to buy one. vodafone update take ages. Prefer unbranded.
