Seating Capacity in Subaru Forester

Hi everyone,

Lately I have been looking at Subaru Foresters and am trying to figure out if there are any fold out seats in the back.

I've tried looking online but can't find anything about it. It's listed everywhere as a 5 seater but so are Honda CRVs. But I know some of the CRVs do have fold out seats in the back.

If anyone has a Forester or knows about them, could you please help me out. I'm currently looking at the 2006 models.

Also, if any one has owned one (or currently owning), what are your thoughts on the car as a whole?

Thanks.

    It's a 5 seater, nothing more

    • Thanks for that, will check out that Site.

  • My family has a 2010 Forester and a 2006 Liberty wagon - both great reliable cars, not a problem with either since purchase. Forester boot space isn't huge (short, plus full size spare under floor restricts height, but I'd never go for a car with a space saving spare), the Liberty has a longer boot. But I enjoy driving both.

If you're after a Subaru with 7 sweaters, the recent-ish Liberty Exiga models are probably something to look at

    • Thanks for your feedback on the cars :)

  • I have a 2007 forester. Definitely only a 5 seater.

    Great car though.

  • Have the 2013 (or 2014?) model 2.5i-L Forester. Happy with it. I get avg 9.5L/100km. CVT transmission has this slight pause when going from Drive to Reverse - coming from manual have found it weird, but no biggie. Child anchors on the back of the seats which opens up the space in the boot better. Reversing camera quality not too bad

  • If you knew the answer, would you be in a Subaru?

  • I've got a 2003 forester, which is the same basic shape as the 2006 model. Great car, but definitely a 5 seater. The child restrain tethers are in the roof at the back which can be a bit of a pain, but not a deal breaker as it isn't our going on holidays car. I don't fill the boot space up with the child seat in anyway. I've carted all sorts of stuff in, on and behind mine and it hasn't missed a beat other than the battery dying and the rear shocks needing replacing, but it is getting long in the tooth and has around 210000km on it.
