    refresh rate at 4k? hdmi version?

    pretty much the only specs that matter

  • After getting stung by a useless tv from the Soniq direct sale, at least I know I can get a refund if this isn't suitable from Target

    • How were you Stung. I was close to getting a 32" Smart Tv for $170 from Soniq. But pulled the pin on the high Postage Costs.

      • It's the second Soniq tv that doesn't work with a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter - it's as if the USB port is under powered. It's disappointing that they wouldn't refund it. You can't know these things until you buy it. Hence won't buy their products ever again.

  • HDMI 2.0?

  • Wow <$400 for UHD

    EDIT: although after some quick research it does appear people previously have purchased for <$350

    • where did u see 350

      • I believe he's referring to the eBay 20% off sale. It's unlikely to get to that price again without another eBay sale.

    Supports HDMI 2.0 according to a user on Whirlpool whrl.pl/ReoiDx

    Looks like it may be a decent monitor.

    Seems like it's the exact same model as the soon-to-be released Kogan 42" 4k https://m.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-42-4k-led-tv-ultra-hd/

    • On the Kogan website;

      USB Media Playback:
      Yes - Max resolution 720p

      That's a massive deal breaker if true. How else would you watch UHD content?

      • Playback through a PC connected via HDMI 2.0. From the research I've done, this model only seems useful as a monitor so it the USB limitation isn't a big deal.

  • Does it actually support 4k or is it like the Kogan ones which feature a 4K panel though have no inputs supporting such a resolution?

    • +1

      Apparently it has a HDMI 2.0 port which supports 4K @ 60Hz.

  • Is this actually any good? I know its a low-cost 4K TV and all, but are the reviews on the website a bit biased? Anyone with some personal experience in this TV? Input super laggy? Slow operations?

  • Far out that's tempting. I live with someone who works there, so might shave another 5% off if the research is right :P

  • Got it, but not for the UHD!
    Works with MS Wireless Display Adapter

    • I think the display adapter works on anything with an HDMI and USB port

      • Actually it doesn't. I've been through 3 tvs that don't work with it.

        • Wow that's pretty weird :/

          @BTRaynes:
          Yes, exceedingly annoying and means I have to now put one of them on eBay/Gumtree (Soniq direct buy & they wouldn't refund it from same day). My guess is the USB port on some tvs are under powered - weird but it's the only thing I can think of.

    • Have you tried it just as a TV, any thoughts on picture quality? people say the SD picture and speakers are rubbish but i'm after something like this for grandparents house.
      Thanks

      • Sorry but I am using it as a 'mirroring' monitor to teach classes & we don't have an external tv antenna to get reception
        The sound seemed ok to me
        It states on the instructions that the HDMI 1 input is for 4K

          Thanks anyway, I bought one for them, $400 for 42 inch is good regardless of UHD. The colours aren't perfect, but acceptable if your not picky (or old), the speakers are rubbish, in store turned it up to full and was just audible. Bought a $30 soundbar which does the trick for the hearing impaired. A DVD played that was upscaled the text looked great, video looked like normal DVD. VHS through the TV (old people) looked horrible until sharpness was set to 0, then looked pretty good for it's age. Thankfully it remembers the user profile for colour, brightness, sharpness etc for each input separate.

  • Anyone know if it does chroma 4:4:4?

  • I ended up getting the store display model for $349
