  • Awesome offer. Thank you

  • Awesome OP, thanks!!!

Does anyone know if you continue getting Flybuys points on top of the Etihad ones? I couldn't find anything about it.

    • Was searching through the T&Cs for the answer too but couldn't find it. I decided the only way to find out is to link to Etihad and see what happens.

    • earn flybuy points (which can be redeemed for etihad miles) by buying etihad flights and etihad miles (directly) by actually flying :)

    • From what i understand you can earn Tier miles plus your usual flybuy points for every dollar you spend. Note: Tier miles is different to Guest miles. With Guest miles you will need to redeem 10,000 flybuy points for 4000 Guest miles.

      • Yeah its a very important distinction.

Etihad Guest Tier miles is basically the same as Status Credits for Qantas.

Also note that to qualify for a higher tier, they use a rolling 12 month balance. Whilst the 3 tier miles per $ offer is ok, the 1 tier mile per $ offer is pretty restrictive. Keep in mind you can only get a max of 2500 tier miles a month, which means that for most months you need to be spending $2000+ a month at Coles.

  • +1

    Etihad Guest tier miles.

    • -2

      U wot m8?

  • YES! more and more miles

  • What if you have multiple Flybuys cards on one account? Can you link to any name?
Can you link to more than one name?

  • I'm wondering what the value of a standard Etihad guest mile is. 10,000 flybuys points can be converted to $50 in flybuys dollars. Is 4000 Etihad guest miles worth more or less than $50?

    • less. much less.

Just take a look at their Reward Shop to see what 4000pts will buy.

      • +2

Actually, the answer varies depending on what you want to get for your points, and how much you value premium class flying at.

The Reward store for any frequent flier program (including claiming for gift cards) is the worst "value" in any frequent flyer program.

You however can use your Etihad points to fly in premium classes ie Business, or First Class.
The face value of these tickets is often thousands of dollars, and you will be able to redeem for these seats for much less.

Now whether it is value depends on what you value premium class flying at. Some people dont value it at all vs Economy, whilst others value it much more. Its all up to the individual.

  • Thanks. Just signed up with Etihad. Heard good thins about before. might fly with them to Singapore next time. I've saved up about 37000 flybuy points
