    • OP says buy two. Take one back. :-)

  • How do you clean these?

    • +1

Once you’ve finished cooking the removable hot plate can be placed straight into the dishwasher, no mess, no fuss.

      No fuss!

      • Thanks. This uses electricity right?

          Eneloops

        • @googleyahoo69: Ok good

        • These use electricity, but the top bit comes off.

You can put it straight into the dishwasher but I wouldn't reccomend that. First they never come out perfectly clean and the 2nd reason is that they can get scuffed up removing the non stick coating.

It's best to use hot water, detergent and a soft sponge. You don't want to be using a scouring pad on anything non stick if you want it last as long as possible.

  • wondering if i can use this to do BBQ outdoor at my backyard? any advise, guys ? Thank you

    • If no one answered what would you think?

      • assume should be YES, but electricity might be expensive, compare to gas, any comments ?

      • Mate think about electric vs gas stoves, if you know which one of those is more expensive to cook on you have answered your question.

    • @gandhi

Just go to Bunnings and buy a proper gas BBQ mate. No self-respecting man is cooking a BBQ in the back yard with this electric plate :).

Nothing wrong with this product, but if you are running an extension cord out back to cook with it, thats just too much.

      • i totally agree with you, that's why i asked before… thanks for making sure myself, but unfortunately a bit too late, coz i had just bought one…

        Thank you :)

        • That wasn't what you asked gandhi28152! You weren't asking if it is "cool" to use an electric hotplate to bbq in the backyard, you asked if you can use this outside, which the answer is yes :)

  • Bought one. Looks handy.

  • Sold out online. Not sure if in store?

  • We’re sorry. This product isn’t available in the quantity that you’ve chosen.

You forgot the 1st rule of OZB, buy first and read later!

  • I own this, bought it from COTD at around same price (excluding shipping, but I had $10 credit).

It's sorta meh for me, I tried to do Korean BBQ on it (with pork), oil flew everywhere (It doesn't drain oil well enough for my usage, I might try placing it at slight angle next time I use it). I was worried about fire alarm being triggered as well.

    • Or use less oil. Try dipping the meat in oil then adding to plate

      • +1

:P I didn't add oil for cooking, it was all from the pork.

        • Ahhh aka the fatty meat (lamb is the brother/sister)

        • @Gav: Yeah, I think if I slant the grill slightly oil might drain better though (a theory I am willing to try next time).

        • @Oversimplified: Surprised it would let out so much fat. If plate is hot enough it should sear so juice stays inside? Otherwise maybe try lower heat.

        • @Gav: Korean barbecue, I've used fatty meat like this. I should've seen it coming though, since most of the Korean barbecue places I know use grills that are designed for cooking these. i.e. really steep angle or have holes so that oil drain out, etc etc.

        • @Oversimplified: I'm gaining weight just looking at those photos! lol. Definitely needs drains.

        • @Gav: Yeah, i might try other meat next time as well.

I got one yesterday! Even though it's not as "cool" as a gas BBQ - it will be handy for my tiny balcony. Just got to find a cheeky BBQ apron now…
