Cellarmasters currently have a code for "An extra 30% off already reduced prices".

As most of their wines are own brands that no-one else sells they can be hard to compare, so I tend to go for known wine makers or awards, I start from Awarded Red wine.

The David Owen Langhorne Creek 'the Advocate' Red 2013 looks like it could be a bargain at $68 +shipping +handling if it's up to the standard of the previous vintages.

I believe the Cellarmasters referral scheme finished so no love for new members, but the code does work if you have got referral credits (thanks to those that used my link!).

Don't forget AMEX statement credits if the website comes back up!

    • Cheers dazzywazzy. Is it too late to enrol for Amex statement credit? Can you post a link please?

      Expired? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/165742

Edit: oops that was last year October, even. Pretty sure there isn't one currently. There's a bunch of wine-related ones (winestar, naked wines) but not Cellarmasters.

      • Thanks zzyss. Didn't think I had seen a recent Amex deal for CellarMasters.

      • Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh kinda got my Cellarmasters and Naked Wines mixed up. One of those days.

        • You could use the 5% off Wish cards. I bought Cellarmasters with a wish card once, had to do it over the phone, took them half an hour to work out how to do it, very painful.

        • @OZB Al: I used a Woolies eGift card at checkout today, it was no problem to enter the number and pin.

Was not worth it in the end because it negated the 7.8% cashback so I ended up 2.8% down :-(.

Cellarmasters sometimes have good deals, but be carefull to never give them your phone number. They are relentless with the calling.

i have them on permanent block, they ring literally every day

I've heard this before but they called me once, I gave them my standard line of "I will NEVER buy ANYTHING over the phone and please remove me from the list." They never called back. I wonder if changing the list is at the discretion of the sales person you get assigned to.

Also worth making sure your contact preferences at https://www.cellarmasters.com.au/account/edit are set to no phone calls.

This isn't too bad when applied to some higher end wines - Penfolds St Henri 2012 is just over $60 - the most competitive pricing I've seen

EDIT: and it's just out of stock!

    • Damn

  • whats the amex deal at the moment?

    • There isn't one for Cellarmasters. See above.

Most of the premium reds (i.e Penfolds) now sold out. But still a few bargains to be had. The code works on riedel glassware, and amongst the mass produced rebadged cleanskins, this Kilikanoon would be a good buy: http://www.cellarmasters.com.au/red/shiraz/wine/kilikanoon-p…

    • Thanks, marked it.

…and just like that, the Penfolds St Henri is now back in stock. I suspect they pulled a few of the premium wines when they realised they didn't want to be selling them at such a discount during the promotion :/
