    You too, TA!

  • +10

I think they should offer the same price on Ebay, and then can get the $50 ebay voucher… ;) What you reckon TA?

    • I actually found this on the newsletter they sent out. I doubt they'll do this price on eBay due to fees etc.

      • Yeah I saw the same, but you should see if you can push them :)

        • +10

I just PM'd him lol. Don't like our chances though.

        • Sorry Spackbace, can't do same price unless someone can help us waive the Ebay fees for this model

        • +5

@ShoppingExpress: Can you please add the ebay fee and listed this way? i think it will be +8% which this the ebay fee of selling on ebay = $115.2 *1.08 = $124.16 which it will say this is a bargain.

        • @LoveBargain15: +1 Add the fees to the price and it will still be a great deal!

      Closest would be this:
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231078756723?_trksid=p2060353.m14…

So you would be paying $88 for it. If only someone posted it for $130 on ebay I would be all over it… HINT HINT ;)

      • Is WD worth the few dollar premium for the Toshiba ($131.95)? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOSHIBA-CANVIO-2TB-2-5-Portable-H…

        • +1

Definitely, I can't speak for all but I've gone through quite a few portable drives and so far only the WD ones have lasted until now. Still have a 2.0 usb one since high school which I use on a daily basis.

  • 2TB Portable Hard Drive $115.20 Delivered

        thanks…

  • Any chance of getting free shipping for external drives? I'm looking at the 2TB WD My Book Mac.

    Officeworks pricebeat?

    • +2

Confirmed; just did OW pricebeat for $109.44

      • hell yeah

EDIT, I've messaged you re price beat, what's the best way to go about it?

      • +1

How did you get Officeworks to pricebeat???

        • +3

I was just sending Jemz a PM explaining how it went:

I called 1300office and spoke to them. They check if the area youre in has stock, then when you ask for Price beat they take down the details of the item, where it is available, how much with shipping and if the warranty is the same they offer.

In our case (since shopping express's discount is applied in the cart) we have to ask them to pricematch the cart. Then they put you on hold for a few mins while they confirm and then wallah - saved like 5 bucks :) Asked for CC details then soon after a mail with confirmation arrives in your inbox.

Call them give it a try - i must warn you it took me about 20 mins since the lady i spoke to was real slow.
If that doesnt work you can try to walk into a store.

          Good luck!

  • Any discount on Seagate Portable 2 TB ?

  • +1

When will this price last till?

  • How much is this WD Elements 2TB USB 3.0 Portable HDD normally?

    Shipping costs $10 for me.

    • Shipping is free for everyone Australia wide.

      • Thanks, but when I entered my post code it said shipping is $10…?

        • It is deducted automatically… Look further down at your discount amount.

        • @alterego13:

          That doesn't happen for me?

  • +2

Cheapest price I got this for was $83.30 back in Feb at HN and OW

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/182053

    • I wasn't speedy enough to buy that :(

  • Shame the Dick Smith Seagate 2TB is still $149:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/213426

  • Thanks OP. Price beat at OW

    • For those who cannot be stuffed clicking on a link, the link above points to a reseller who does not do the Click and Collect deal and the price of the drive (Seagate Backup Plus 2TB 2.5" USB 3.0 Slim Portable External Hard Drive) was AU $131.94 and will be shipped from NSW. Also please note:

"This seller is currently away until 26 Oct, 2015. If you make a purchase, there may be a delay in processing your order"

    • 98% positive feedback in seller is not good enough for me

  • Stupid question, but could someone please explain what the difference is between the normal and 'for mac' versions of this harddrive. Is it worth paying extra to have it already formatted for mac? How difficult is doing that, and would re-formatting the windows version for mac make it make the HD less reliable or anything?

    • +2

Nothing. Think of it as a stupid tax. You can format any hard drive for osx in 30 seconds.

      • Sorry, didn't mean stupid. Just not knowing better.

        • I think the word you're looking for is gullible.

  • can it be used in a ps4?

    • +1

Not the WD portable drives. You need Seagate or Toshiba.

  • +3

Thanks TA. OfficeWorks reallllly didn't want to price beat. But I used ozbargain mind tricks to talk them out of every excuse.

  • YAY! Thanks TA. I walked in to OW and they did the 5% thing, and I am backing up all my photos as I type this.

As old mate above said. You are a Champion !

  • if you check the specifications tab it says " Capacity: 1TB ? is that just a mistake?

  • Just tried this and the shipped price is $138.10
