… just a hint, fake RRP prices don't go down well here. You're not advertising your "$1000+" price anywhere (because you don't have a website, only a facebook account), the closest I can find is that you're doing it for $199 on there.

    • -1

      Hi,
$1000+ elsewhere is what I compared to the market rate in Sydney.
We just opened one month ago and are doing $199 promotion for babies of other age. $50 is sample only for 1month - 12 months babies.

      • Yeah no $1,000 is not something anyone would pay for 1 session and a few edited copies

        • -3

It is actually what almost all other studio are charging.

That's not a studio shoot, that's on location/customer's house, don't even try to compare. Plus "50+ images"

$79 for the shoot, plus the minimum spend buys you a lot of stuff plus the digital images.

        • @Spackbace:

Customer's house most of times will not to be not as nice as in studio. We do not mind travel but for the quality of photos, it's better to be in our studio.
Baby less than one years old can not do location shoot because they can not walk, some can not even sit.

50 image to 30 image is just how many same poses with slightly different facial expression.

If you really think they can buy a lot of stuff in morffew photos… No argument here, an leather album is $2800 and one canvas is $1800, it is the price I have been told during my last visit……

Regardless of personal opinion of studio shoot vs on-site shoot, studio shoots are and should always be cheaper than an on-site shoot, as you're not having to go out of your way to look after the customer, can fit more into your day etc.

You're trying to boost your business by comparing to completely different offers and prices. Don't! Compare to yourself and yourself only! Don't have a benchmark to compare to because you're new? Then don't try to compare! Let it try to stand by itself!

    This is cheap, however

    • There's no mention of how long each session will go for, or how many pictures you typically shoot in that timefram
    • What do you mean by 'High-Res' images? And are they jpegs or raw?
    • Are the pictures edited or straight off the camera?
    • When does the customer get the images? A week or so after each shoot or 12 months later after they're all done?
    • Is this a shoot each month to show the progress, or 1 at 1 month and 1 at 12 months?
    • 30 images seems a strange number for possibly 12 sessions… why not make it 36?
    • Thank you, after you pointed out I found what I wrote is very confusing. I re-edited it, hope it makes more sense now.

    • It is cheap, but more info is needed as spackbace has mentioned

Ozbargain is for people that find bargains! Not to advertise your business.

    • -2

Compare to people who would spend thousands dollars to get some OK photos for their babies. I really hope they can see some value in this $50 for some amazing photos.

  • our session is worth $1000+
    LOL its not.

  • has the photographer won multiple WPPI/AIPP awards?
    if not no thanks!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/215369

this guy is like best in Australia, and has to advertise in ozbargain, cause he nice bloke want to share his love and awesomeness

    • Yeah, because AIPP awards mean SO MUCH. #tothedeluded

Also, WTF is a "digital print"?

    • /s
      ;)

    • I do a lot of photography myself and have to disagree here. AIPP or WPPI are organisations which charge the photographer to be part of it. So it is nothing else than paid advertising in my opinion. Awards are not open to everyone so you can only take part when you pay.

It certainly gives you some assurance to hire an AIPP photographer but you still can't be 100% sure to get great shots … and there will be lots of great photographers out there who do not "advertise" on AIPP or WPPI.

The OP has some great shots (when you like that style) on his Facebook page and it's definitely a great bargain for 50$ (esp. when you get 30 edited digital high res files … (I think that is what he means with digital print). Not 100% sure so … It seems like the images are done by the photographer himself … did a quick reverse image search.

You can't even rent the equipment for that price … I would classify it as a great bargain when you are after some great shots of your kids.

      • You must be an angel God sent to save my day.
I regret putting an ads in ozbargain, do not know it can be so controversial.
I really just want some samples of cute little kids, we are two female photographers who's been doing this for other studios for a very long time in other country.

Anyway, thank you very very much.

  • Look, I suppose it always helps to distinguish between advertising and genuine bargains

I wouldn't mind taking up this offer. Just a few questions. Can you do siblings in the shoot as well. Are props included? And is this one session per month or only 1 session. Let's also talk about privacy. Will you automatically post these photos on your facebook or ask for parents permission?

    • Hi,
I will ask for permission after parents see all photos and are happy for me to use them in social media.
This is for one 1 hour session only and we want to focus on just one kid at a time.
However a couple of siblings shot is ok.

      • And props?

        • You do not need to bring anything, we have everything :)

        • @emilytan:

          Thanks will email you soon

  • Hi, which suburb is the studio in?
