    sonnnnnofaaaa…

i did my target order like a few hrs ago.. that extra .5% lost forever to the system… :(

    • He who hesitates…is better off!

      • +1

I hesitated but I am no better off?
        Oh wait, I didn't buy anything :P

        • totally forgot about the cashreward thing when I purchase the ps4 V_V

  • -1

Don't think many people can take advantage of this anyway. Pretty much everything is out of stock now.

    • +3

eBay sitewide, not just Target :)

  • +11

We all know they can go to 4% on ebay now.

    • +1

      Good point!

this is kind of like buying a $30 sim card for $15

…better than nothing, but kinda meh (for a professional) lol …

  • +13

Maybe a good deal, but I am bit skeptical about Cashrewards.
It takes ages just to get notification from them, especially for higher rewards.
I have written to one of the store representative present in this forum, without any response.
Still waiting for notification email from Cashrewards for the previous purchase with the ebay click and collect deal. Purchased for more than 200 and no response.
Wonder if it is just me or others are also disappointed with the service of Cashrewards.

    • +6

I'm losing patience with Cashrewards the last 4 or so have got lost, the better the deal and the bigger the purchase the less likely it seems to pay out.

    • +1

The last 4 purchases have come in pretty quick for me… A week at most.
One was for the lg g4 and a case for it.
Last week a video card and motherboard 800 in total came after a few days. I haven't even got notification to pick them up yet.

A few items in the past have taken longer. Weeks. Ac from the good guys and a television from binglee.

I read somewhere it depends on the return period of items.

    • +1

Ive lost over a hundred dollars in cashbacks that i was supposed to receive. Go with shopandmint.com.au instead.

    • +3

Same here. Using Cashrewards my transactions havent tracked for cashback of around $120 for me … no rhyme or reason why they dont track as all transactions were in the same session and for the same purchase amount. 1 transaction did track in that session though and got the cashrewards tracking email. Not the other 2. Bought on last Ebay sale.. go figure..
Have previously used the Velocity estore and ALL transactions from Ebay have tracked. Every. Single. Time. Also velocity Estore tracking receipts arrive within 24 hours. Every. Single. Time…
Never used shopandmint so cannot comment on them.

    • I wasn't getting cash backs from them for a while at the beginning of the year. Then I switched to Microsft Edge/Internet explorer and my cash backs have been tracking perfectly. No idea why, but it works. Whenever I buy from eBay now, I would add to cart via Chrome, then switch to Edge and go cashrewards.

      • Interesting, might try that. Cheers.

      • I've been getting cashback OK using chrome.

    • +1

yep same deal here.bought a $800 dishwasher from the goodguys ebay event and a $300 video card last week. nothing came up. did everything the site requires me to do(both ebay/cashrewards emails match as well). ask them about it and reply pretty much says tough luck.

    • +1

I haven't had much luck with tracking lately.

Missed out on about $70 in cash back, even after emailing them about it I was sent an email back saying "We are unable to confirm it" even after sending them the receipts for purchases from 3 different places (Rates to go, Insure and go, eBay)

Not too mention a groupon which was tracked then declined (worth $35)

    • -5

If they don't honour my $80 cashback (all the other cashbacks of a few cents track fine) I am raising a dispute with Fair Trading

  • Is it very difficult to get cash back they have so many restriction.

  • +5

shopandmint raised theirs to 4.5% I believe

    • +2

I think theirs is back down to 3% though (last I checked about 20 hours ago)

      • yep correct. they put it back down :(

    • +1

Are they just trying to troll us?

      http://imgur.com/2PvrfXg

      Image saids:

      EBAY
      4.5% (crossed out)

      We're now at 3%.

Just trying to tell us, "Too bad you missed out".

  • Saving 0.5% is a bargain?

    • +1

0.5% was a saving when I went to school. I also dabbled in some English and this is 3% saving.

      • +1

0.5% is a saving but hardly a bargain. Going from a usual 2.5% cashback to 3.0% cashback is only a 0.5% saving over usual.

        • +1

I agree it's definitely no huge bargain but I'll take the extra savings anyday. Especially when it requires no additional effort to what I'm already doing. So the deal gets a positive from me while it gets a no vote from you.

  • +2

Well my last two eBay transactions were not tracked according to cashrewards customer service, so I'm feeling a little skeptical with eBay. I spent over 3k! Every thing else has been tracked I won't be using it as sure saving in the future. My dan murphy order was tracked today within 15 mins. Pretty miffed about the situation however nothing much can be done :(

    • Funny that, my most recent eBay purchase a few days ago has tracked, of course it's a lower valued transaction!

As some have pointed out, it's the higher value transactions that have been a little sketchy. I think ebay are doing the dodgy here!

My high purchases via dan murphys have always tracked successfully.

Would be interesting to see some stats on higher spend purchases via eBay.

  • Anyone else get a $10 off code randomly appear in their eBay?

    • Where might I check this?

      • It shows where the price is at the top of the listing. A little investigation and it seems it only applies to items over $40.

        • I got one over the weekend on a random item and used it but another of the same item (different color) didn't show it, was a weird one..

  • Andrew from Cashrewards here. Whilst more than 95% plus of purchases track perfectly issues sometimes do occur if the cashback guidelines are not followed.

If your purchase does not track it will generally not make any difference which rewards website you are using as the tracking process works in exactly the same way for all cashback websites.

Hundreds of thousands of purchases made by Australians are now earning cashback on the things they are already buying. Understandably our members are really disappointed when it doesn't work for them.

Cashrewards members have earned nearly $3 million in cashback this year. Much of this has gone to OzB's I imagine!

We welcome all feedback, suggestions and complaints. We learn from every customer interaction and continually strive to provide a better service.

    • +1

If we can cashback 2.5%… and it was at 4% before.. I'm assuming that you guys are making 1.5% profit at least. So thats $1.8million!!

      • Even if it was as simple as that (it won't be) - they are a for-profit business. It is in their interest (and ours - considering we are benefiting) to make a profit.

    • +1

Can you give us a quick explanation as to how it works? My order wasn't tracked and I did everything to make sure that I went directly from Cashrewards, to eBay, to the item and then to checkout.

What could get in the way of the information being sent/stored? (Whether it be browsing environment or user error).

      • +1

Seems like tracking error again. Your comment couldn't be tracked by the rep and hence no reply ;)
More than 40% of my transactions haven't been tracked although I did exactly the same way as I did other tracked transactions. I sent a message to rep few days ago but haven't got any reply yet

    • my cashreward stopped tracking ever since August……

all the cashback was recorded fine before August!!!!!!
(so I know I am doing it right, but your website/system stuffed up!)

    • slightly off-topic, but my purchase through hotel club back in July, has tracked, but hasn't been approved yet… that's over 90 days… is that normal?

    • -5

you guys are a joke both my $800 purchases did not go through yet all my $5-50 worked fine

    • +1

I've had 2 transactions made recently that haven't been tracked even though I made sure to follow the correct path. Even if I thought there was a chance the link had "timed out" somehow I opened up another browser directly from cash rewards. After emailing cashrewards, all they can do is say that their systems are accurate and I must have done something wrong. Because I can't actually prove it, there's no solution offered.

    • +1

My order from rivers didnt tracked but my order from dan murphys did, two orders were only ten minutes apart and I was using the same computer same browser. Can you explain to me why my rivers order didnt tracked?

    • +4

I'd say it's more like 80% of purchases track perfectly… at least that's my experience, with the 20% that don't track always being bigger purchases.

  • And I just spent $30 on ebay this morning. That's 15c I've missed out on…

    • Actually it's 75c.

      • +1

        You monster.

      • No, it's 15c. I still got 2.5% back.

        • +1

          return it ☺

  • Well I spend almost $400 on Sheridan outlet which does state to have a cash back and one of your representatives said it would take one week for the cash back to show up on my account? It's been 10days and still nothing and your site says it takes a couple of days..

    • Can you PM your user name so I can follow this up with our customer service agent.

      • Sent cheers.

      • Are you guys having any problems with Pushys? Ive bought three times since they've joined CR and they haven't shown up in my account

  • +4

best way to go about this is just assume it won't work, and anything else is a bonus :)

8-9/10 of my purchases have come through so it's not too bad.

  • +3

This deal offers a discount of $0.50 for every $100 you spend. Particularly when half the cashbacks aren't even processed why bother…

    • You must be new, Every cent counts, welcome to Ozbaragin mate.

    • -1

Cashback is 3% off the (pre-discounted) price so significantly more than .50 in the above example.

      • I'm not an idiot, the example above indicates the amount saved as a result of this 'deal'.

  • +3

In 1 month,i had got 5 transactions over $4000 without any response.

    • Their company Ferrari was their reply

  • +1

Never had an issue so far with Cashback and ebay purchases.

I find it best to use my non default browser. No add-ons. No browsing between purchases

  • +1

Well, I have like heaps of pending cashback from ebay since 26/9/15 and hasn't moved an inch. What gives?

    • eBay takes around 45 days average to be approved

      • +1

What about orders placed on 26 March 2015? Still no response.

      • A quick question. I had an eBay order which wasn't tracked and was told that if it doesn't track automatically, there is no way for it to be manually approved, even though I am happy to provide transaction nr etc or anything else you need. Is this actually not correct?

      • What about orders from 07 Sep 2015 and is still pending? like???

  • +3

For those who complain transactions are not tracked,do you know Ozbargain is now affiliated with eBay?If you click through the eBay deal here as a guest, your transaction commission might donate to Ozbargain.

So like 4agte has mentioned:No add-ons. No browsing between purchases.Very Important!

  • Personally, I found using mobile sites for both cashrewards.com.au and the merchant site are surefire way to get tracked.

  • +2

Ive mostly had a good run with cash rewards…but a recent declined on a large $90+ cashback has ruined the trust levels to some degree.

  • seems like a problem this missing tracking cookie.

  • +5

Too many people burnt, including myself, to give this a positive vote. There is seemingly a lot of commissions simply disappearing into the void.

    • +1

Same, I signed up awhile back and the first ever transaction didn't work. I just wrote it off as unlucky and then recently tried using it again for the EBay voucher deal. Nothing has appeared in cashrewards profile even stating I've done the transaction through their site. Pretty frustrated.

  • +1

Their stealing your money/cashback sounds like it

  • +1

Many OzB's who have been paid hundreds and thousand of dollars in cashback will attest to the benefits of shopping with Cashrewards and have commented as such on numerous other posts on OzB.

We remain keen to resolve any issues and take on board all feedback to always improve our service.

    • Can confirm this. Have only been introduced to Cashrewards this year and have had pretty much every transaction tracked, and Andrew has helped on the one time this hadn't happened. Can't find this level of service with any other company, by a mile!
If a transaction is not being tracked, then some/all of the guidelines haven't been followed, pretty simple really.
Cashrewards really is the best way to go when online shopping :)

      • +7

Yeah its all good until they dont pay up on a big purchase and blame you for doing it wrong.

        • I purchased an item from the good guys ebay recently for $290 (not as big as some of the others) and it didn't come through for me and the below is what they came back with. I'm sure I did everything right. Surely putting in the 20% discount code should not have caused this. As I mentioned in my reply "You're going to need a better way of assuring people that the reward is going to accrue if you are looking to build trust for your company. Clicking through does not seem to be enough."

          eBay have told us that their tracking system is extremely accurate and unrecorded reward transactions are generally due to one of the following issues;

          clicking on another link after clicking through from the Cashrewards link;
          clearing your browser’s cookies;
          having cookies disabled before buying an item;
          going to eBay to make a purchase, then realising you did not enter through the Cashrewards link, re-entering eBay through Cashrewards and reattempting the purchase. In this instance, the sale will not be attributed to Cashrewards;
          purchasing items from within your wishlist;
          using a coupon code that did not originate on the Cashrewards website;
part or all of the purchase being returned, refunded or cancelled, or
Spyware, Adware or Adblock programs installed on your computer or corporate firewalls that block tracking cookies

eBay’s decision is final and unfortunately, they will not investigate unrecorded transactions when queried. Please see the store page for more information.

    • +1

If by "we remain keen to resolve any issues" you mean that you'll promise to look into it, and then do nothing - then you're spot on.

  • This changes everything…

  • +1

my purchases since june from different merchants like esprit, avancer, deals direc, haven't received the cash back. I already sent email to their agent but so far told to wait for more than 6 months. I intend to use other cashbak service.

    • +1

Deals Direct? You can forget them - I've had three separate claims turned down.
They all registered in my CR account, but then DD refused to pay up.
You have been warned, DD are badass

      • Same here, my only 2 Deal Direct purchases in March are listed but unapproved. That reminds me to submit a query.

  • +2

A lot of my transactions also haven't been tracking.
4 from eBay, 2 from Iconic and 1 from Hotel Club haven't tracked.
I emailed them every time and get a pretty disappointing reply.

  • +1

I don't understand how this is a deal. 0.5% discount is nothing. It's more like advertising for Cash Rewards.

    • If you read through all the feedback it's not great advertising for CashRewards

  • +1

nice, i get to save an extra 50 cents on my $100 purchase ;)

    • you have a chance of saving 50c

    • Hey! 50 cents is a lot of money!

  • My Ebay cashbacks are fine, But I still have a bunch of Greenmangaming transactions still pending dating back to last December.

    • +1

You must be lucky, or not spending a lot. Fully 20% of my eBay purchases haven't tracked despite the fact I follow the exact same procedure everytime. And strangely that 20% of purchases that didn't track account for about 50% of the total money I spent… Gotta love that.

  • These guys are a rip off merchant. Scamming people left right and centre. Apparently my order of knives couldnt be tracked and therefore claimed back. 1st and last time i try these guys. Live and learn i guess

    • I go pricepal now, ever since my cashback freezes up with cashrewards!
