Under $30 when you use a cash back, that's half price for a first party Nintendo game that almost never gets reductions. Good spot OP.

    • How much can you get off with cashback? (no idea how it works)

      • +1

different companies do different amounts, click on the cashback button beneath go to deal to see which applies to you.

        • Holy shit how did I not know of this before! Thanks!

    • +2

This game and about 4 or so others are part of a new discount collection Nintendo is offering. Not sure what the RRP will be off hand, but they should have a permanent discount of some sort. Same applies to Star Fox below and I think New Yoshi's Island is another.

  • +3

$1.99 shipping or free shipping if you spend more than $50.

Star Fox 64 is also $31, might be good if you don't have it already. http://www.ozgameshop.com/3ds-games/star-fox-64-3d-game-3ds-…

    • +1

I finished Star Fox in about 2 hours… Wasn't fun enough to replay the levels to collect everything. Still $30 is cheap for a collector.

    • Good spotting, I didn't realise I had 2 Zeldas in my cart when checking the shipping price.

    Cash Back Special Terms

Cashback when using a coupon: 1.50%
    Cashback for new customers: 4.00%
    Cashback for existing customers: 1.50%

    • Cheers, removed cashback pricing.

  • Star Fox 64 is a rare 3DS game, this game will only appreciate in value.

    • +3

It was rare about a year back. However now Nintendo has reprinted the game as part of the selects range so it is not as rare.

  • The value is down slightly due to it being a select title.

    • +4

      yep. That's neat/annoying though I didn't even know they did 3DS Select titles. I hate Select/Platinum/Best Of/Best Price/Essentials titles so ugly…

      • +1 on Select covers cover art being so bad. :(

Long shot (I know) but I hope it brings prices of non-Select versions here in Australia (same game but different SKU codes therefore different prices. :( )

        • +1

That's a possibility not for retail new but for all the people who don't care about the cover may try to sell their used select versions on ebay for less lowering market value for all versions.

But honestly your best chance is finding a used original copy on gumtree. It may take a while but you can get games there at all sorts of prices. Also if you do care about covers only the day one/first run print copies have the foil case art. Same for OOT 3D but majoras mask 3d didn't get a foil cover.

Considering getting the SO a 3DS. Do I get her normal size or XL? Also what games would you recommend for someone that's pretty casual to gaming?
    Cheers :)

    • +3

XL unless you need to carry it everywhere in your pocket. In regards to games start with the classic Nintendo games like Super Mario 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, the Zelda games, Kids Icarus Uprising, Animal Crossing, Donkey Kong Country Returns and go from there.

      • +1

Thanks! She's always got her handbag so XL seems the better choice.

        • +3

Also a new3DS for sure, the 3D on the new range is much better. wish I could get a new3DS XL so bad

        • +1

I second Teal. Get the newXL. I've had both and the new one is a good upgrade. Considering they're around the same price (although the new one doesn't come with a charger), it's worth getting the newXL.

    • +2

Depends whether she wants to carry it in her pocket or her bag - the 3ds XL is significantly larger than the regular size, even more so if you're talking about the new 3ds. I personally like the XL better as it's easier to see the graphics and you don't lose quality or anything, but the regular one is cheaper (although with all the deals lately, not by much - case in point, the new 3ds XL Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer bundle is roughly $200 with the eBay Target deal rn not including eBay cashrewards sooo).
Games that won't go wrong with any gamer:
      *Animal Crossing New Leaf
*any Pokemon game - Diamond, Pearl and Platinum are relatively cheap now that they're a few years old, but Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are the real winners, also any of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games if she's more about the cuteness of the Pokemon than being a trainer
*the Professor Layton series - puzzle games with a great storyline
*the Phoenix Wright series - be a lawyer/detective and save the day, absolutely fantastic games that I can't praise enough.

      Hope I helped some :-)

edit: Haha wow I totally forgot about Mariokart and Zelda! I agree with mark96's list as well.

    • +1

      XL, size matters.

Personally I prefer the smaller model because it's easier to put into my pocket.

    • +2

If you are still looking here new 3ds $186 after discount.

    • Cheers for the help guys. Will be going for newXL!

  • +1

Approximately the same price at Zavvi, but without cashback.

Looks like this is the new low price, so not a sale.

    • Zavvi doesn't have player points to potentially get a cheaper price and you'll get it quicker from OGS (more often than not)

      • Last time I ordered from OGS it took a whole month to arrive. Does it still take that long?

        • +1

It's not so bad, but my last order never arrived, so I had to wait over a month myself in whole

5% cashback at shopandmint for ozgameshop. Need $50 to do a withdrawal but their cashback deals seem to be higher across the board.

  • Will EB games price match?

    • usually no since it's online only and not australian store

      • Thanks, I might as well grab it here then

  • is it worth getting this if I've already got Majora's Mask?

    • +2

Haven't played it yet but as a fan of the zelda series I'd say yes. Majora's mask 3d is a shiny high res remake of the of n64 title of the same name. This is a new zelda game with new features made to show off the 3ds itself.

      • Thanks. MM was my first Zelda game so I guess it'd be worth playing some of the older titles. Apparently MM is the most un-Zelda-like game out of the series. There is a lot of weird stuff in that game.

        • +1

MM is indeed full of weird but it's pretty awesome. If you enjoyed the design elements of MM check out OOT 3D it really is a beautiful game and theres a reason most best games lists pre the last of us put it on top. If you have a wii check out Skywayward sword too is it's pretty amazing as well. Basically I could go on and recommend basically every zelda game short of the CDi trilogy and some spin offs really they all are great even the spin offs.

        • +1

@Scaregdearimasu: Dam. I should've got OOT while I was getting MM second hand. It was only $30 more. I guess I didn't know I'd like it so much.

    • +4

MM is more like a sequel of OOC but this ALBW is sequel of ALTTP from SNES.

      • You mean OOT? Ocarina of Time? Currently playing through it now.

  • +3

Here's goes my first Zelda purchase, cheers OB :P

    • I can't see 4% cashback from cashrewards… does anyone else have the same issue?
