The actual gameplay is solid for this port, although it’s definitely not a pretty game by any means. Might be hard to adjust if you’ve played any other version.
Does it have next gen update?
It's actually pretty nifty. Yes it's a slight difference, but once your brain processes that it's a handheld version thus it won't be as graphically good as the other systems… it's still a frolicking good time. I had to wait for 2 separate sales to get MK 11 on the Switch for a more reasonable price (base game, then the Ultimate dlc)
I finally got the Switch version last year when I had already gradually collected the others earlier on (Didn't think the game was worth $69-$89 at launch, I pounced a year later when the Xbox version had dropped to $24 just as the Aftermath/Ultimate edition was being released, paid a bit more to convert it to the Ultimate edition - and I still came out in front of the original JB price of $69 - $89 at EB). The game was in the PS+ catalog (only for a few months) but I pounced and just paid a pittance for the Ultimate edition DLC…. had to spring for the base game when it was taken off of the catalog - but I waited until it was on sale so that was no drama. I managed to Ultimate MK 11 on Steam for less than $10 a few years back.

Usually finish in the top 10 of the weekly towers of time leaderboards on Xbox, I've been on top several times throughout the years - but it requires patience and a lot of Australian public holidays to do so (Easter, Christmas/Boxing Day, Melbourne Cup week etc).The PS and PC versions are full of hacked scores). I think my love of Injustice 2, helped carry my love/obsession for MK 11 (didn't play MK X as much….hell I was pumped for MK 1…. but pretty much abandoned it early into its release - came back for a few of the DLC fighters but didn't last long).
MK 11 has been my most played game on Xbox and PS for years (those end of year game stats are embarrassing when it just shows MK 11 every month lol).
