Best before Dec 11 (on the pale and bright), you may want to update the description.

Probably worth noting for anyone who doesn't look too closely, these are cases of 16, not 24.

  • Have had the Pale Ale. Pretty tame as per the reviews. I'd be tempted to go for the Bright Ale at this price if only for a test.

    • I'd be interested in the blonde and knowing whether anyone has tried it.

      • Reviews on DM site for the Blonde seem encouraging.

Think I'll get myself a couple of cases.

      • +2

They are apparently more fun :)

        • I've never tried, so I can only suggest that is it apparently true.

      • I prefer blonde for the weekend, and ginger for weekdays.

    • Was thinking the same.

  • I like their Ginger beer/ale. Where can I buy a case for cheap?

  • Free shipping wont work. Am i missing something

EDIT as per below. Discount applied on last payment page

    • Hmm, mine charged shipping when I went through PayPal, delivery to Metro Tas (where the beer is made).

      On hold with customer service…

  • How does one get the free metro delivery as it is coming up as $14 for me?

    ^^ What he said.

  • +1

Thought this was a mixed variety pack. Was disappointed.

    • just mix up your own in store

  • +8

    16 in a case!? That's just wrong. 24 or 12 long necks.

    • +5

That's exactly why i've not bought any since they went from 24 to 16 bottles a case, for basically the same price. And that leads to situations like this - items don't sell, become short dated and marked down to the price they should be

    • +4

Yeah, I just removed my plus vote.
Price is probably what it should be for 16 beers.
Companies moving away from standard carton sizes, sneaky. Next, eggs will be in 10 packs.

  • +15

It's a massive stretch to call this stuff 'craft beer'

  • +10

    1) You can't say "A case of 16".
    2) Sounds like you've removed 1/3 of a case & converted that to shipping.
    3) This is not real craft beer.
    4) Seems like a good deal.

  • +1

I bought 2 cases of the Blonde. It discounts the delivery charge when you get to the payment screen

    • Confirmed… ordered the same.

  • is this free delivery only on this beer? Or for all beer?

    • -1

Just this beer. Tried adding some others to my cart and went to payment screen, delivery fee still applies.

      • If you buy this beer and then add another brand as well is it still free?

        • +4

I dunno, try it yourself. I'm not trying everyone elses combinations.

        • +1

          @Firey1989:

You just had to try one combo. I cbf loading up the dan murphy site for such a underwhelming deal.

  • Ordered two cases of the Bright Ale based on the reviews. I don't see Cascade as craft but I'll drink it anyway.

    • Oh you don't? Well, owners SABMiller might want to know about that! http://www.smh.com.au/business/cascade-crafts-a-revival-2013…

Or maybe they do already, given the discounting…

      • +3

good independent news story there …. "The reporter flew to Hobart courtesy of Cascade." :)

I got a couple of things from it - it wasn't news but a promotion and the lager is reduced in alcohol - which would be to pay less tax, max the product cheaper, and make the product taste different.

  • +6

Cascade took a step backward IMO when they increased the price, changed the bottle, grew a beard and went to the 16 in a slab. Up until then the pale ale was a great $45 per slab beer, but this was way back in the unpretentious golden days.

Next step will be, they will sell it artisan mason jars delivered on fixie bikes

      • +3

Growlers you mean? :) Eg https://www.danmurphys.com.au/list/trubru

FFS, I can't believe it was Oktoberfest month and look at the motley lot of cr## Dan Murphy peddled out for it's sales, from that frigging Wahoo Summer Urine, to this…

        • @sonicentropy:

Lol. Or "At least it is lager they are throwing away, not ale".

        • +2

That wahoo summer urine. The perfect description. I mistakenly bought some the last time it was on sale and I ended up tipping out 3 of the bottles because it was so disgusting. It was like there was a party in my mouth and everyone was vomiting.

        • @altomic: Ah jeez that cracked me up. Quote of the year goes to 'There was a party in my mouth and everyone was vomiting". :)

        • +1

          @altomic:

I'm still laughing at that quote… And workday nearly done. Soon for a real beer…

        • +1

@Mobe1969: I know what you mean. I'm enjoy a cold Monteiths black beer

        • @altomic:

          Nice :)

I'm either gonna have a Zywiec porter or a Southwark Stout for starters.

        • +1

          @Mobe1969: love that Polish beer

        • +1

          @altomic:
Yeah it is one of those things that once you discover it you are like "where have you been all my life?". If I could go back in time, I'd go back 20 years, buy a carton of this, and Southwark, and drop it off at my house for my younger self to find. And give my late cats a hug. That's probably all I'd do…

  • No Free Delivery??

    • are you metro?

      • hetro?

Did you go through to pay screen where there is a discount equal to delivery as detailed and confirmed above?

Someone mentioned about no discount when using Paypal and they were following through with customer services on the matter.

    • Proceed to payment screen even though it says $x for delivery, then delivery free is removed (Assuming you're metro area)

  • +1

This is about as craft as VB.
If you like craft beer, steer clear.

  • I would put a + if this were a Feral, Holgate, 4 pines deal..

  • +1

    Cheers
