POLL: Have You Ever Watched a Full Wallabies' Game?

I was thinking that many Australian's may not even be aware that the Wallabies are playing in the 2015 Rugby World Cup final this weekend.

Have you ever watched a full Wallabies' game on TV or at the stadium?

i've watched all the aus games this world cup and all the other finals games too.

its awesome how much the poms put the games at shit times for us aussies and then there were no northern hemisphere teams in the semi finals

The Kiwis I know get super passionate about the All Blacks but I'm pretty sure most Australian's won't be watching this game.

I haven't watched any games this world cup but I have in previous world cups.

      • i watched the second bledisloe cup game at a pub with the sydney all blacks supporters club. that was an interesting night. more people would watch it if it was on at a better time. even the game for 3rd place is on at 7am which is almost reasonable.

      • Ditto. I love my sport, but there's a limit to how much sleep I'm willing to sacrifice for a sport I don't completely understand.

    • Most big finals in any sport in the UK are on around 3pm on a weekend, but I suppose they could have made an exception and put it on at mid-day for a 10pm kick off our time considering the teams involved.

Problem is, ticketing dates and times are usually set in stone for months before..

  • i used to always watch the bledisloe cup with my dad when i was younger but wouldn't have watched a full game for 5 or so years

I'll be watching. It's the law.
I went to a Catholic boys high school, with bonus, rugby-obsessed / clinically-insane, Principal.

Rare, occasional, joy, of breakfast television.
    This was there, this morning:

Sweet Freakin' Jesus (oddly gifted player, good kicker, converted a few tries),

The All Blacks have certainly ramped-up The Haka since the heady 1970's

    Enjoy!

    (The Lords of The Dance!!)

  • I think the question should be

"Have You Ever Watched a Wallabies' Game where they beat the All Blacks (other than that 1 fluke in 2015)???"

    And most would answer NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

    Go the blacks!!!

    • Odds are $1.40 for the all blacks to win atm

I voted that I wouldn't be watching before I realised how hyped I actually am about the game. So even tho' it'll be screening from 2:15am-5:00am, its fairly likely that I will be kitted out, on the couch and frightening the cat.

  • Could not be less interested in rugby of either persuasion and fairly sure everyone south/west of the NSW/Qld borders would agree.

I live in perpetual hope that one day AFL will be played internationally. :)

you mean the game where you get points for missing the goal? that's like a participation award. adults play real games.

Unlike the game where you get a free shot for goal when you score?

I suppose you are therefore saying everyone in WA/SA/Vic are children, then. Real good burn

        • not everyone, supporters of the melbourne rebels and western force would be excluded.

    • Does International Rules count when they play a AFL/Gaelic hybrid game? Is that even happening this year?

  • After watching we get beat by the All Blacks for like 100 times I can't bear to watch any more! I'd rather watch the replay when we finally win…I could only dream…

  • I defiantly want to watch the final!

Has anyone else seen the banter between Air NZ and Qantas on twitter? haha

  • I would have watched it but it's on the same time as Stoke City game and the rest of the EPL games so will only see bits of it.

  • You'll probably find that all responses are from people who have watched some or none of a game. People who watch a full game rugby wouldn't have the intelligence to turn a computer on, let alone type.

    • Dear altomic,

Are you bernardtomic's brother? This would explain a bit.

We are taking your comment as a collective, but nonetheless, personal, slight.

      Listen.

You do not need to be individual-code steeled/steeped, or even sport-at-all, obsessed, to understand that the dominance of New Zealand in anything other than Hobbit-housing, is A Manifestation of Evil in The World.

Good may triumph over evil on the weekend. A genuinely exciting prospect.

If we lose, I will simply post 'Bugger' as a comment and we as a nation will move on, with resilience and resolve ongoing, always as a just counter to tyranny.

      Sincerely,

      Tas.

P.S. On a one-to-one basis, 'Human Kiwis' can seem quite personable, but it is a trick. Caution is always required.

New Zealand also has a ground-dwelling parrot called a 'Kakapo', that doesn't do The Haka, but will crazily shag you if given half-a-chance.

      Bloody New Zealanders.

  • Rugby Union is the game played in heaven, well that's what they say. Has anyone ever watched an AFL grand final game all of the way through. I couldn't stop laughing when someone said that, we (the winners) were now the world champions. Oh well, different strokes and all of that.

  • Well there you has an accurate reflection on the viewing habits of 54. I'm sure we're representative of the general population :)
