Xiaomi 5,000mAh Power Bank is under 10mm thick (slim).

20mm did sound strange for an Ultra Slim device.
However, 5mm, half the thickness of the Xiaomi does not seem possible.
Maybe you should measure it?
Agree to what Moogyl, the thickest part is the micro usb input and its about 5mm thick and the whole power bank is very light in weight
I feel that "certified by Apple" is a bit misleading.
On the Officeworks page it says certified by Apple under the "MFi" licensing program

It just means "Made for ipad". That is, Apple certify that it does indeed have a lightning plug. There is nothing about whether it is good quality.
Actually, the MFi program is pretty stringent, and that means that it has to use an official apple's supplier lightning connector and authentication chips, as well as passing other tests.
Pretty far out but Chirnside VIC had 2 navy lightning and 2 gold micro usb (also $10) last night.
