I don't believe it has mic monitoring (voice monitoring).

I might get it just for the headset adapter.
You can get the headset adapters for $40 on their own, probably cheaper if you find them on sale, but I guess an extra $8 isn't too much to pay for a spare pair of headphones that may be ok.

I've had one since it was released and i love it. I'm not an audiophile or anything though, so maybe I just have low standards.
Whats a good headset for kids as santas getting them an xb1 for xmas. I have 3 boys using it 10,8, & 5 so they need to be durable, as they break shit regularly.
Will they be using them for chatting online or just game audio? If its just game audio than I'd probably suggest you buy the controllers with the 3.5 mm jack, that way you can plug in any cheap headphones and get game audio.
If they want chat too than this is probably you're best bet, as it comes with the adaptor that let's you plug in any headset for game audio and any headset that supports mic via 3.5 for game chat. The adaptor alone is worth around 40, so for 8 more you are getting a full headset.
Other option (which Noone will probably recommend) is the standard mono headset that MS sell (which only does game chat and not game audio) which I'm not sure how much it's sells for but it's probably around 25-30. This mono headset plugs into any Xbox One controller and I think you get one with an Xbox One itself.
Yup, so get the controller if it is just game audio, if they also want chat just get this. If they want chat only, you an get a chat headset which doesn't have game audio and only chat, for $18 at Harvey Norman.

Thanks! Picked one up, was looking at them anyway. JB-Hifi has this advertised at $69 so this is a very good price. I've read reviews on this and for the price it has positive comments. To get a better quality headset your looking at more than twice this price at around $130, for a steel series or turtle beach.
