50% off Lindt Pick & Mix Gift Boxes (Small Box $14.50, Large Box $24.50) @ Lindt Cafe

810

If you have registered with Amex Shop Small, you could get the large gift box and get $10 credit from AMEX making this deal even sweeter.

Update:

For those who want to buy more than 1 large box, you can use amex in different Lindt cafes to get multiple $10 credits.

Basically, you pick the size of the box (either small or large), then go nuts selecting your favourite flavour. There are at least 15 different flavour to choose from.
The fun bit though, is to squeeze as much chocs as you can.
I was able to fit in 64 in the large box (about 900g) and thought that I did well. Boy, was I wrong. The next day I learned that a friend's friend was able to fit in 1.3kg!!!

Just make sure you stack them nicely and OVERFLOW the box, but make sure you can close the lid unassisted. And this is important… be shameless :-)

Here is what the sign says:

Fill Your Own Gift Box
Small gift box* Now $14.50 was $29.00
Large gift box* Now $24.50 was $49.00
*Pick and mix box lid must be able to close and stay closed unassisted.

"Stay closed unassisted", I'll leave that to your imaginative mind on how you can get as much chocs while accomplishing "closed lid unassisted" :-)
This is a photo of my second loot that got cleared by the shop keeper today. She didn't seem to mind at all about the overflow.

Happy hunting.

Update:
Thanks to pea who confirmed that this deal is available at all Lindt Cafe:

  • Would something like this be available at the new Marsden Park warehouse ?

    • +3

Yes it is according to their FB event; this deal is at all cafés and stores! https://www.facebook.com/events/1027986420587231/

      • Thanks, but the Marsden Park outlet doesn't show in the map on AMEX website…

      • Thanks pea.
        Description updated.

  • is this avail at the one in martin place (sydney)?

    • Give em a call ;)

    • +5

can confirm it is for both Lindt cafes in sydney cbd.

      • there are more than 2 in Sydney cbd

        • sorry, you are correct… i only knew about the 2 next to my office.

        • @Jonski: wheres the other one ?

  • +1

Dark chocolate balls are the best!

  • +2

Not complaining at all, but just wondering how a company like Lindt qualified for Shop Small Australia !

    • +1

I was shocked to receive a $10 shop small credit from Priceline at chatswood. (Nsw)

      • Westfield?
I was surprised last year too
But I can't find it on the map this year

      • Just be careful. My local Hairhouse warehouse is on the list but I haven't been credited yet. I've contacted Amex.

    • This year? The one in Westfield?

  • Weight wise , How much approx u got in big box ?

    • +1

      Per description, 900grams to 1.3kg

    • +2

I managed to stuff 1Kg just then, it was overflowing…. I asked the lady who worked there if it was ok, and she said it was fine. As she was packing it into the bag, she slipped and it fell on the floor, grabbing the attention of (what I assume) the manager, who told me that it was too full and it MUST close to be valid. I told her I already paid for it so she let it go, but kind of told the employee that next time it's not OK….. now I feel bad!

  • +1

you make it sound like an Easter Egg hunt… maybe it's a good time to stock up on chocolate for Easter. :) Nice one, OP.

    • It was a bit like easter hunt for us 😄
The kids had so much fun choosing the chocolate they like.

  • +1

Hi, this is excellent. We have the Amex deal so will make a nice xmas gift.

  • +1

From your photo, there is no closed lid at all ? I think worst case they will just ask you put back a few… which is ok, no risk no gain.

    • +1

If you deliberately squish the top ones, they're unlikely to ask you to return them :-P

    • I closed it when we paid but I couldn't close it properly. I was prepared to be told to return some but to my surprise the lady didn't say anything.
The photo is just to show how much we could fit inside.

  • +6

If you pick the square block chocolates and line and stack them up you can get around 1.65kg in a closed box. Best value for money!

  • +3

A warning: Check their expiry date before buying. I bought a few bar of chocolate from Marsden Park, they expired in Nov, some in March mext year.

    • There's no expiry date on the wrapper. But after eating a few of them I could tell they're pretty fresh 😄

  • Any Lindt experts here? How does $24.50 for a kg sound in terms of value when compared with the boxes you get from Supermarkets?
Also, what's the expiry of these?

    • +2

Probably more expensive than when they are half-price in the supermarkets but there are more flavours to choose from in a Lindt cafe than in the pre-packaged ones in the supermarkets.

    • +1

This is cheaper if you can get at least 1kg of lindor balls in the box (even after 50% off at the supermarkets).

    • +2

If you have Amex this is definitely much cheaper. I mean $14.50 for a 1kg of Lindt chocs with flavour like champagne, cream cookies and orange just to name a few, is a rare chance to go outside the usual red and dark blue balls 😊

  • +1

Anyone pls confirm if they got $10 email from amex after buying from Martin pl cafe syd..

    • +1

I went there last Friday, got Amex $10 email five minutes later.

    • +3

I got the $10 for the george st Lindt under the NAB building. Got 1.03 kg of choc. My friend got 1.1 kg.

      • Finally got 1.6kg from Martin pl cafe..

  • Why it goes to 24.50 for big box ?

  • +1

Thanks OP, I manage to put in 930g.

  • +1

Thanks OP! This is gonna ruin my co worker's plans for a 6 pack summer. Hope I get the $10 credit from AMEX.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Amazing deal!! managed to fit in 1.03kg in the larger box just by making sure each layer was optimised for Lindt balls.

paid with my AMEX and by the time i'd walked out the door, the email from AMEX had come through letting me know i'd get a $10 credit on the statement

  • +1

Thanks OP, got a large box at Lindt martin place. Not sure how much i got exactly as I could not see a scale in store but the lid could barely be closed so i guess i did all right

  • Managed 1.040 kg on in store scale

    • +1

We got 1.145kg! Pushed very hard as the guy serving the people for us was cool about overflow but the hardass girl who took over said it had to fully/completely close. If only we were a minute faster. :P

  • +1

Managed 48 lindor balls in the small box.. not sure how much it weighed.

    • Not sure how much ends up in body weight.

      • That,s pretty good, i managed 70 in big box

        • Cool.I wish they didn't insist on closing the boxes :)

        • +1

At both of your rates, it's cheaper per chocolate to get two small boxes than it is to get the large:

          $29 for two small boxes = 30c/chocolate.

          $24.50 for one large box = 35c/chocolate.

I was wondering about this… Not necessarily cheaper to buy in bulk, going off your packing rates. Can someone post the dimensions of the boxes? Important! :)

        • +2

@Embaloo: Yes 2 small packs seems to work out better value. I need to buy another pack so thinking of buying 2 small packs.

        • +1

          @lokesh7:
If you have amex, maybe try buying another large box from a different store. You might be able to get another $10 credit. I have yet to confirm this though.

        • @gt-man: luckily i have got multiple amex cards so i will just use another one at same store.

      • Haha.. don't remind me about body weight..let me enjoy the rewards of my packing abilities..:)

    • I got 42 :)

  • Bought two large boxes worth and it equaled out to be exactly 2 kgs when I weighed them at home. Pretty pleased with my efforts!

  • Marsden Park warehouse is qualified for Amex shop small offer. Could anyone confirm it?Thanks

  • …a good reason to go here on a not-so-hot day!

  • +3

Thanks OP! My girlfriend was able to get the $10 off via AMEX and filled the large box with a total of 78!

  • +1

Oh and tips for squishing them down?

    • Milk chocolate stars fit well in linear gaps.

      • No stars at Collins, but there's bells.

  • +1

Anyone tried shake the box well (to fill any possible gap) before try closing the lid ? I am getting a big box today. I got a feeling that I will be asked to put back a lot….. let's see

    • +1

Fit Lindor Bells between the spaces between spheres. They tessellate well.

    • +1

The helpful staff told me that I could put in as much as I could as long as the lid closed.
When you get to the top of the box, you can put the block shaped ones on the side to form a centimeter wall. So you can stuff more in the middle.

  • Is there a list of all the mix and match flavors?

  • +1

They don't have any of those small square block chocolates. Easier to fit more in however with the balls and chocolate range I still managed 1.11kg with a closed lid.

  • +1

Got 2 small boxes - didn't go crazy - lead closed easily on both.
One was 730g (including box and wrappers) and the other 700g.
Might go back tomorrow as I have another Amex I can use.

    • Did you try going to a different store to see if you could get another $10 credit?

      • Don't think I need that much chocolate…

  • any idea about lindt chocolate cafe in darling harbor eligible for amex ?

    • +2

It's eligible. Got the email few minutes later.

      • thanks, it worked. curious to weigh my box..

  • +1

Will I get $10 credit statement each time if I use the same Amex at different Lindt stores?

    • +1

That's a really good point. I'm not sure if the credit comes from Lindt or individual store. Maybe we need to read the T&C on the original amex shop small but I'm just too lazy.
      Can someone confirm this?

    • +3

You'll get it each time in different stores. I received $10 credit from both Darling Harbour and Miranda stores.

  • +1

New record at 1.145kg! We ripped the box a little, and squished like crazy as the girl serving us wasn't cool with overflow.

    • Wow that's awesome!
I might get another large box at a different location to see if I can get another $10 credit from amex. Which location did you go so I can avoid getting the crappy treatment?

      • +1

Collins St this afternoon. The girls weren't too happy with us (me + 2 of my American expert packers/people who'd make you go out of business if you ran an all-you-can-eat), but the guy, Gaith I think his name was, was pretty chill. Linger around and hope you get him? :P

They were constantly refilling as it was busy. Under the table there's 3 more flavours. The bar wall at the top was a no go with the girls.

Tell us how you go. :)

        • Thanks. We bought ours from Collins st. Might try Chadstone this weekend.

  • +3

I got two small boxes yesterday. Managed to fit 51 in one and 53 in the other. Totals 1.255kg of chocolate without the boxes. Thanks!

  • +1

the terms and conditions of Amex are "Redeem the offer once per participating merchant at a maximum of 10 different merchants."

  • +1

Advice for anyone in Melbourne CBD- I just walked into Lindt Westgate, around Southbank, when I heard staff telling a customer they need remove some chocolates because the lid wasn't able to close completely- so I walked over to Collins Street where I managed to carefully stack 950g worth of chocolate into a large box, lid was a little off but he was nice and used stickers to help close it- this store has been pretty relaxed in the past with groupon deals too.

    Happy stacking!

  • +3

Managed 55 lindor balls into a small box.. Pretty happy with my achievement

  • +1

my missus managed to fit in 76 lindor balls into a large box and I managed 73

Like others, we both had lindors taken out as the lid wasn't able to sit flush (even though the lid would have closed fine!)

  • Can anyone confirm getting the Amex $10 credit from the Lindt stall on level 2 of Westfield Sydney east of Pitt St. mall in the CBD - corner of Market & Castlereagh St.?

    • +1

I got the amex credit after getting it at the lindt store at world square Sydney on George St - which is down the road from there.. And I just checked and this store is not specifically on the small shops map

  • +1

I got 75/73 chocolates in two large boxes.

  • How about scanning the box and reprinting it at 120%?
Probably illegal, but seems reasonable for a nation built by convicts.

  • Has anyone received a credit or email from lindt at world square in Sydney?

  • Thanks, OP! The AmEx offer made it really cheap.

Managed to stuff 1.1kg into a 'large' box, which wasn't so big.

  • Guys, anyone knows which of the Sydney store is more lax or more straight about how tightly the lid needs to be closed?

    • Bondi Junction.

@ world Square, if you see a lady who is in her early 20's don't buy it, she took out 6 lindor when it was not "that" full, but still managed to get 71 Lindor + 1 bell. The other person was more relax & i was able to get 70 Lindor + 4 stars + 4 bells
