Can you do a better price on the Celestron NexStar 6 SE? It is ~$981.19AUD from amazon. youre selling it for $1999.. I'm sure shipping isnt $1000..

All our products are imported by local supplier and backed by the 2 Years local warranty, that is the reason why the price is a lot different from USA. We only can price match with Australian Website or optics store.
That's not what Makka asked. An extra year worth of warranty is not worth the price of an entire new setup.
Celestron doesn't give Australian resellers great deals they are not far off retail in the US. Then you add shipping which is north of $100 then you add shipping handling (dock to business) then border fees (dockside charges for importing goods). Then add 10% GST
Then you have to pay your business overheads in Australia on top of that and finally you should be making a profit as well.
I had the same conversation with a seller of telescopes in Adelaide (comparing the price i paid in the US) and he went through his costs for shipping etc.. And I could see why his was so high.
So unfortunately $2k is probably not far off.
The big killer is the poor deal that Celestron gives non US sellers.
@drunifex: Yep, Celestron are pretty much infamous for the local distributor ripping the local resellers and in turn the consumers in a massive way.
