909 Mitre Saw with Stand $110 at Masters Bundall QLD + Other Mitre Saws at Masters eBay Listed

80

I decided to purchase this on the Masters EBay site last night which I thought was a great bargain for $160 then 3.5% cash rewards cashback.(sold out on eBay store now)
Upper Coomera said no stock on eBay but they had 2 in store.
I did Click and Collect for Bundall and went out to pick it up today only to see they had a 254mm double bevel slide mitre saw with stand for $110. They had about 10 or so on a big end of an isle.
I can't find it on their website but the barcode number is 9333196020455
The mitre saw is basically the same as this 255mm model but the size of this 254mm model.
All 3 without the stand are great prices but the kit with the stand is awesome value.
Remember if you want either of these 2 you can also get 20% off and 3.5% cash rewards cashback.

If you want to get precise mitre cuts (eg making picture frames), save yourself the pain and buy a decent brand. This is good enough for quick and dirty cuts but it isn't a precision tool and may cause more frustration than its worth if you think that 45 degrees will be 45 degrees.

This. The motor is pretty good but the base is rubbish. Will not give you good accurate cuts.

  • Also - this is a single bevel, not a double bevel. That can be annoying…

Check that both the saw blade size and the arbor (hole) size are standard sizes and replacement blades are available in Australia.
This saw appears to have a blade with 24 teeth, you may want a 40T blade or better for fine work.
A while back I bought a 909 brand 235mm saw and replacement blades are not available as the arbor (hole) is a non standard size in Australia.

    • arbor size is 16mm. I checked a couple of Irwin blades at Bunnings and they come with reducers to suit (hole in saw was 25mm for the ones I checked) so no problem there.
