Masters 909 200mm Bench Grinder $56 @ Masters eBay

130
CGIFT20

Very cheap for a 200mm (8") Bench Grinder. Looks almost the same (except colours and branding) as the $179 AEG Bench Grinder at Bunnings. http://www.bunnings.com.au/aeg-550w-200mm-bench-grinder_p623…

  • Bargin Boy was too quick for me

  • Good find! Thanks for editing.
I went looking for that on ebay, but for some reason couldn't find it (I must be blind).

Oh well I guess at least the one I posted can be used if anyone misses using CGIFT20 today.

This Bench Grinder also looks remarkably similar to the 200mm Makita one (sold at some places for >$200) as well.

    • Might be better to reply to his post so he knows what you said :)

  • Bought this the other day - still in box. Guess I am buying again and returning the other :S

    • Doesn't matter if you have already opened the one you bought previously - buy a second one, don't open that, and then return the second one with the docket from the first purchase.

  • Grind it hard!

I can't believe it is identical to the AEG. Great price for that size.

This looks like a great deal at $59, but just be aware that the ad also claims it's good for sharpening knives.

The grit level isn't stated anywhere for each wheel, but it would be very unlikely that it would be smooth enough to handle kitchen knives (sharpening stones for kitchens are about 1000 for the 'rough' side, and 2000 or more for the 'smooth' finishing side).

These wheels most likely have grits in the hundreds, not thousands… so just be very careful with things like kitchen knives.

Here's a link to the product details on the 909 website. Grit wheels are 36 and 60 (go to the "What's in the box" tab). Fairly coarse for knives, as you say.

      • Ouch… yep, that would stuff a kitchen knife completely!

        Well found mate, cheers.

  • Just look in store I purchased one 2 weeks ago it has a LED worklight on it it I paid $49.00 for it at Masters in Joondalup

    • Fixit, is the one you bought actually this Wesco 250W model for $49.98? It has the single LED worklight.
