    jv is that you?

      No :(
People seemingly only like this page because they think I am some other account holder.
      Just me. Sorry to disappoint.

    • +2

I don't see JV comment much in the forums, he seems to like deals only.

      • +2

If by 'like' you mean 'hate'.

      • +2

Not enough exposure in the forums.

He's all about popularity & attention, whether that's positive or negative it's all attention, isn't it?

Woof, woof, drool, lick, pee & poo !! What a clever doggie you are. Now off to your bed, eat all your pedigree chum, take your vitamin tablets , play with your toys , have a good scratch & remember that tomorrow is doggie wash day & also cutting off all that excess hair around your arse.
    Sweet dreams.

    • Never had a dog :((((((

I would name him Charlie though. Or her. The name is more important than the gender.

      • So who was so important to you that had the name 'Charlie" - be them male or female & what happened to make you feel this way ? I agree that a name is so important & means so much.
Ice is definately not important unless it's in your drink to cool it down.
So you're a Nordic blond - youngish , but with a lot of issues in life.

        • Prepare yourself for a long story.
At 14 I liked the name and planned on having only daughters so wanted to use this male name so it became a dog name. It also stemmed from the fact at the time my friendship group expanded to include this English school boy named Charlie and it was in the midst of my English obsession so it stuck.
Listening to the RHCP's song 'Charlie' now. Charlie is a code name for cocaine by the way.

          That's me.
Re issues - Working on them though :)

      • +1

Best friend's dog's name is Charlie! He's a lab. I'll try get a pic of him next time I see him.

        • Please do :)

          Thank you in advance.

@Beethoven: I've send them via PM.

Birthday boy with his cake. The kids took them, so not the best quality. He's actually chocolate brown but he looks almost black on those pics.

Have an excellent evening. I know I will :D

        • @Jar Jar Binks:

          Thank you.

          I will :)

        • @Beethoven: Btw, have you seen Brave? Highly recommended by my daughter.

        • @Jar Jar Binks:

No. I haven't. The trailer looks super adorable though. On my watch list now that I have nothing to do.

PS - The greatest download ever? Your children will be entertained for years.

@Beethoven: For years, you say? You are underestimating my kids ;)

        • @Jar Jar Binks:

Have you read them The Sneetches? It is one of the most defining stories of my life. It is about discrimination. It is an indelible story.

They made it into a video.

          @Beethoven:

Yes I've read the books. The kids are big fans of Dr. Seuss body of work and often use his stories to promote their interests :(

The one that get thrown around a lot, especially during our weekly family meetings, is from Yurtle, the Turtle :

I know, up on top you are seeing great sights, but down here at the bottom we, too, should have rights.

          O.O

          Edit: Also

A person's a person, no matter how small.

          From Horton, hears a who!

        • @Jar Jar Binks:
Sounds like they need to visit Solla Sollew which has almost no problems, or at least very few.

        • @mskeggs: I had trouble getting to Solla Sollew is the story they least connected with. They never understood why he was running away from his problems in the first place.

Boola Boo Ball also has a sad connotation for us. A young person on our street took her own life in a very public way.We didn't really know her but everyone was talking about it. It might even have been on the news. We didn't know how to explain what has happened or why she did it because we couldn't understand it ourselves. From the outside, it looked like she had the perfect life: young, beautiful, top of the class, popular, doting parents…

The kids asked us if she had gone to Boola Boo Ball with the doorman :(

  • I've been a member on and off for a few years but changed emails

I think I remember you! You were so sweet and cheerful.I told you I liked you (and I don't say that to many people!) and that it must be a blast working with you! What's with the drastic personality change/s? Is everything ok?

    • Did JJB disclose my identity? Otherwise wow you are good. That's me :)
      And oh that's so kind!

A bad relapse of one of my 'demons'. Every day is a battle the usual.
I'm the same on every other page except this one :)

      PS -
I get this all the time strangely enough. My whole life everyone says I look like someone they know or confuse me for someone else. I look like a generic Nord I guess. We are all the same. Now it's happening online.

      • +1

No, he didn't. I remember you because you were my girl crush :) There's an underlying sweetness about you, despite everything else that's happening at the surface, that I envy.

          How are YOUUUUU?

          @Beethoven:

          Every day is a battle

You've pretty much summed up how I feel felt. I've started a gratitude journal and every night, I write a list of 5 things that I am grateful for: some days, I can't even think of 1 and some days, I have 7 or 8. One time, I had 12. It was on my birthday:) I've had a lot of 7 or 8 lately. Nothing has changed but somehow I feel happier. Maybe you could try it. It's a chore at first but gratitude is like a muscle: the more you use it, the stronger it gets, and the more grateful you are for what you have, the happier you become. We can all use a little more happiness in our lives :)

p.s: Not too sure what exactly is your 'demon' but reachout is a good resource, with lots of helpful strategies on how to deal with a range of issues.

Also, there's no shame in getting some professional help if you feel overwhelmed.

          Take care,

          @wicket1120:

          A belated happy birthday :)

Thank you for your wonderful tips. I did it for around 5 days last year then stopped. Silly me.
I was really really sick a few years back and bed ridden etc and remember standing outside feeling the breeze and I had never appreciated it before. I miss that happiness and gratitude.

          As always, sending e-love.
          :)

remember standing outside feeling the breeze and I had never appreciated it before.

Maybe it's possible for you to feel that way again. You'll never know if you don't try. Please call them. Like you said, no more excuses. You owe yourselves that much.

p.s: I don't always have internet access and, even when I do, I don't bother logging in to ozb. I won't know if you PM me.

        • @wicket1120:

Well I look forward to your posts.

          @wicket1120:
Can't even think of one? Look bigger! And look smaller, too. You have a perfectly formed gravatar icon at one end of the spectrum, and some mischievous kids, I think, at the other. Is there not at least a well formed sandwich, email that raises a chuckle and glint of sunshine of the trees in between? That is 5+ every day before you have to go looking.
Demons can be hard work but they have no staying power.

        • @mskeggs: Thank you :)

My 'demon' is more of a physical nature. And no, it's not my darling husband, however annoying he can be some times ;)

"Pain is inevitable;suffering is optional." Can't remember who said it but it's very true in my case.

After reading the lot, seems he's (OP) doing a JJB?

On red dwarf lister discovers rimmers identity, when listy says: "I'm having a woman's period".

    97 months?

    • I'M A WOMAN. And for the last time I wrote like this because I was high on chocolate.
Read my other posts. Do you really think a male would have written those things???

      • +1

Hilarious episode, but the episode I mentioned was Rimmer dressed as Kachanski trying to stop lister studying his chef's exam. Becoming rimmers superior.

  • Photo or you're a troll.

    • Ask the members who remember me from my old account. Look on the previous page.
And read my other comments in other threads.

        Haha nice.

  • Just checked Guinness book and can't find anyone that meets your age/weight.

    • Those peeps just jealous.

  • Hi! :">

    • Hi sexy

      • I wanna ask: At your age and situation, what keeps you going and feeling positive?

        • Mental superiority. Food. Sex. In that order.

          http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gG_dA32oH44

        • @Beethoven:

          Mental superiority

Does that link with suppository of all wisdom?

        • @chill:

I'm starting to miss Tony, one of my favourite stand-up comics.

        • @chill:

          Accuracy of possessing all wisdom.

  • I apologise if this is a personal question, but in the earlier thread you said that you were Jewish. I always thought that being part of a close knit community would afford someone a sense of comfort in times like this. Is that the case or am I just completely talking out of my arse?

    • My problems are caused by my mother so that negates any benefit.

      • yes, I suppose it would. I guess that is the flip side, having those supports close to you is of no benefit if they are in fact the cause of your problems.

What do you like most in life? I like bicycles. I am always scouring gumtree for old school neglected bikes that I can pimp out.

        • No one has ever asked me that before and I have never thought before so fabulous question! Thank you for asking.

I like art quite a lot. I studied maths so it's a nice change.
This documentary is really good. The presenter is really cool and makes it fun if you don't care much for art.
          http://youtu.be/1xtuRb3I91g

Have you seen "pimp my ride"? It's exactly what you are saying but for cars.

        • @Beethoven: thank you I will watch that. I do not know much about art but am always keen to know more.

As for bikes, it's a bit like pimp my ride but there is a site called rat rod bikes that Is sort of what I mean, I don't really go for ostentatious builds though, and I like to keep bikes as original as I can.

I find that movement itself is soothing, if you are moving somewhere on a bike you never feel as bad as when you are standing still. It's the same as being on a bus or a train or a boat. As long as you are moving somewhere you feel as though you are progressing and you can always hope that the place you are going is better than the place where you are now.

        • @paizuri:

It goes for an entire hour so I suggest splitting up the segments.
There is also this one - Most Expensive Paintings. The one above is Stolen paintings.
          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dbDgoBJrUE

Bikes - wow that is so cool I had never seen that before. I have a stationary bike which I should use more.
If you have fair skin your risk of spider veins greatly increases the more you stand still. Just so you know :) I'm pedantic about my skin so I am very careful about that.

I really need that. Having a tough time in life at the moment. Thank you.

  • OP you are 97 years old. What have you got to lose by posting a real picture of yourself ?

      • +1

You said you are a woman. That is a picture of a man.
You are 97. I can't think of any reason why you would have a problem with posting a real pic, unless you are troll.

        • @Beethoven:

not good enough. but no worries.

        • +2

@dudebargain: By self-description she was once a fizzy fox, but apparently has let herself go in many stark and separate directions, along with hyper age-acceleration.

Currently appears to be elderly, non-fizzy, and Rubenesque for OzBargain purposes, dude.

I think that clarifies things for you, Beethoven, but was I happy to help?

          Stuffed if I know.

Cos they're busy in the gym burning off a few of those 300 kgs for the big shoot.

  • What's there to complain about?

    • +1

Actually tonight I went to the petrol station supermarket part and they never have macadamia nuts! Always walnuts, almonds and cashews. Never macadamia nuts. If they do it's mixed nuts which = 1 macadamia nut and 14 pretzels and 3 almonds.
      Grrr.
