Interesting partnership from PR perspective …

Sometimes coffee is only worth being free :)

    • +4

Did you mean sometimes coffee isn't even worth it even if its free?

      • -2

        Not worth the calories :)

    • +3

i read the title as "unlimited water at 7-eleven"

      • -2

honestly id rather go thirsty than drink 711 coffee

  • Cheers,
Worked for me and I'm a Vodafone user!

    • Works for me on Optus!

Enter the rampaging Ozbargain community who will milk this till' 7-Eleven goes bust.

    • +13

They won't even be able to afford paying staff well below the award.

    • +1

      Challenge accepted

  • Even better… Screenshot the voucher barcode….

    • Generated barcode only lasts for a few minutes it seems so not much use.

I'm on Amaysim and can access this so no reason anyone can't just download this and enjoy

      • How do you generate the barcode?

        • +1

Open the app, tap the 7-Eleven offer and it'll ask whether you're ready to pay. Tap yes and it'll generate a barcode.

Clearing Data on Android should yield the same result as uninstalling

    • Confirmed - tried it on my phone.

    Tea???
    I don't drink coffee :(

    • Pretty sure they have always offered free tea, as you can just use a tea bag with hot water, but I could be wrong?

      • +2

I've always had to pay $1.
Wow I never realised how pathetic my complaint was until I see it in words.
        I'm so spoiled :(

        • I don't think it's pathetic, tea bags are worth nothing, they're basically charging you for hot water.

        • Wow I never realised how pathetic my complaint was until I see it in words.

          It was a complaint?

        • @Scrooge McDuck:
          A mental complaint.

They only offer black tea too. Zero options.

        • @Beethoven:

They only offer black tea too.

          Barely worth it!

If their facilities are anything like Coles Express's, then perhaps we could half-fill the cup with hot water and add chocolate powder and UHT milk for a free hot chocolate…

        • @Scrooge McDuck: amazing! In Wellington you have to pay for tea.
I've spent like 5 whole dollars now just on tea. It's insane

My local 7-Eleven store is refusing to accept this deal as it doesn't have a barcode to scan on their POS :(

    • +1

It does have a barcode. When you press redeem, it gives a 5 minute barcode.

    • Piece Of S**t or Point Of Sale?

    • A lot of 7/11s don't accept deals!

  • Do I need to be Telstra customer ? Will the App detect I am not ?

    • Nope, i'm optus and it let me install fine.

      • Thanks. Installed on Optus. Will see if I can get a free coffee.

        • Just got mine, worked great.

  • If you get a regular coffee through this app, can you still get a muffin for $2 ?

    • Pretty sure it would work, since it's registering the coffee via barcode as an actual purchase item + discount.

  • I was going to post this deal on Friday (as that's when I noticed this unlimited deal started) but like others have found it doesn't scan on the 7- Eleven POS and therefore I didn't post it. The dude said he scanned it under 'online vouchers' and it came up not found.

Mine also says 1 day left to use so the offer is limited?

Anyone have any luck with getting it scanned?

    • Worked for me. The store assistant needs to find the offer on their POS first then scan the barcode.
Simply just scanning the barcode doesn't work due to the weird way their system is set-up.

  • Didn't have any luck using it with the local 7-11

  • Shame it can't be used for hot chocolate (at least half price would be good).

  • my screen is cracked. I will assume it won't work.

  • Just didn't work. They couldn't find the item (i.e. barcode)

  • Tried multiple times and it does not work. The barcode is not recognized by their system.
Worth to be reported as per http://crowdsupport.telstra.com.au/t5/Telstra-Treats/Telstra…

"Telstra Treats are committed to resolving complaints quickly. If you are unhappy with a specific Treat/offer or find that it is incorrect or inappropriate please let us know. You can do this through the Telstra Treats app; click “report this treat” which is displayed at the bottom of each offer. Your feedback will be reviewed and if action is required we will remove the offer and advise the participating store of the complaint. All participating stores must comply with the ‘Website Terms of Use’; any stores found to not be compliant will be delisted as a Treats provider."

Looks like 7-11 have found a way to cut the salaries even more.
I tried the 7-11 coffee on Edward St once.. NEVER again. total crap.
Haven't tried any other store though are they different?
7-11 coffee in Japan is actually OK.

    • +1

It's $1 , what do you expect? Gourmet coffee?

      • mud is free and better.

        • +1

LOL. I pay it just for the caffeine hit, not the taste. Beats spending $4 on a small cappuccino if I'm out and about and dying for a coffee. Tip : add extra sugars to mask the 'mud' taste.

        • @wolfenator87: thats an insult to mud

  • If people start using the same deal twice at the same store the clerks are going to catch on that it can be "abused", so for the sake of other barginers i would limit yourself to 1 per store.

    • +1

      per day

  • +1

The app is found under Telstra Treats, not 7-Eleven. The 7-Eleven FREE Regular Coffee states "Last day to use".

    • It is possible to have multiple coffees in one day.

  • +7

Not sure how I feel about "deals" like this. It's taking advantage of a glitch, not really a bargain.

Oh well, to each their own.

    • This reminds me of nicois, as this is Telstra related (sort of) Gerd where are you? ;)

  • Barcode didn't work at SUBIACO WA 711

    • Did you pay or just walk out?

      • Pay was only a $1, worse then maccas coffee tho!

        • I have found that although quite okay for a cheap caffeine hit the Coles coffee for .80c is slightly better quality(and cheaper).

    • Worked fine for me there this morning.

      • Ah maybe they fixed it

  • Just used a few minutes ago at Knox. Works like a charm. One for me and one for the missus. Thanks, guys!

  • Worked fine for me in Melbourne CBD. Cheers!

  • I wanted to post this the other day but the deal wouldn't come up for me at home. Guess I wasn't close enough to a 7-11.

  • +1

Tried and drank 7/11's coffee - euugghh!! Never again!!

  • "This app is incompatible with all of your devices."

Weird, considering I have three devices with Android 4.1 installed. I wonder if it detects and refuses to run on devices if they are rooted, like the Foxtel app does and the Stan app used to (my trial ran out so can't test it, but they specifically mention it should now work on rooted devices). I could stuff around with a hack to make it pretend it's not rooted, but if they don't want me using their software, I won't use it. However for unlimited free coffee? Might be worth trying.

  • Deal is still active for me… 'last day to use' again

  • Installed the iPhone app, cannot see any 7-Eleven offers. Any way to search or make the offer appear.

  • Can't get this to show up in the app (despite me being 5km from a seven eleven store…..when I select view all deals nearby it doesn't show up either ……this just reflects that any telstra apps I have used in past are poorly designed. Ie. Telstra 24/7 app doesn't allow me to view my recent calls, isn't an app glitch as such, just poorly constructed and thought out app planning.

  • Can't see in app either and I'm surounded by 3 x 7 Elevens.

  • im in the store.. im thinking the offer was pulled.. :)

  • Yeah can't see it either.
