  • Just out of curiosity, I have not yet tested out the difference of headphones over $100. Is it really worth it! Thanks.
Where can this or equivalent be tried out? JB?

    • I haven't found any stores that have them on display. They're quite difficult to get in Australia. Only fitshop.com.au stock them locally as far as I can tell.

I'm getting mine as a gift from overseas for Christmas, so cannot comment on how they sound. Going by reviews, they're "great" - but I wouldn't be expecting accurate mids and highs. These are for working out, which means bass.

      • I've got a set of the previous version (JayBird BlueBuds X Sport Bluetooth Headphones - Storm White). And it's my daily driver. I use it on my commute and while I work. I got a set of "Comply T-500 Isolation Earphone Tips" which weren't included in the older model but comes standard with the X2. I was previously using a set of Sennheiser MM 400 X. Which are good but are quite bulky.

    • I have previous version JayBird BlueBuds X and they were great. I didn't like other wireless/Bluetooth headphones because often they poor quality in sound, but JayBird deliver pretty decent sound quality. Compare to the BlueANT that I got from previous Westfield event, JayBird provides much clearer sound. One thing I must complain is that, the ear buds and the wings fall out easily after prolong use (they get quite soft). I already lost the earbud for one side and had get a replacement from ebay. I read from reviews that they have improved this for X2

    Damn, thats a good price

Due to the recent weakening of the AUD, this is a damn good price.

I have owned the Jaybirds bluebud x (predecessors) for about a year now and they are amazing! The 8 hour battery life is just awesome.

I have previously owned the Jabra Pulse which is not bad, but 4hr battery is just not enough and they weren’t as comfy either.

I have just placed an order for the Jaybirds X2 as well, I know it’s not a big upgrade from the bluebud X but what the heck, it’s Christmas coming!

Thank you OP for sharing (and making my bank balance fall by $189 :P)

  • Love the prior version/model, these are basically the same with slightly more refined plastic fins (AFAICT) - https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/3heljq/any_majo…

The damned US/AUD is painful, I paid $128USD delivered (inc tax, shipping to US address) which was around $160AUD in March 2015.

  • Wow! Are these V2? Assuming from the "X2"? I got my V1 for $170 delivered back in the days, i love em but the battery life sucks on them.

    • Yeah, these are the latest model.

I expect Amazon to drop in price within the next week or two as Wallmart in the US have already dropped them under $US100.

    • but it seems only x1 not 2.

      • he says x2 in the post..

        • people replying if its the x1s and he hasnt replied back to confirm anything..

        • @KimTaeyeon: yep, thats what i meant. probably he made a mistake.

        • @KimTaeyeon:

          I really don't follow.

EDIT: Ohh, MKBHD, not me. Lol.

I will be rather annoyed if the X2s are that cheap.

  • I've got the original Jaybird blubuds and they are great - have run around 3000km with them.

  • how do you guys wear the Jaybirds, under or over style? i sort of got off them after having dramas getting a good fit and them staying in good so reverted back to my $5- Phillips wired for now. it does seem the earbuds do struggle to stay in as well, do they really rely on the fins?
so the x2's have better fins?
you guys rocking the comply's if so which model
    cheerz

  • I guess us old versioner's could 'upgrade' to the latest fins? http://www.jaybirdsport.com/shop/

Assuming the headphone is the same diameter

  • feel sad looking at this
got one during oct using the amex offer 15%off offer
    now is even cheaper

  • Should've wait for this instead of buying Powerbeats 2 wireless from DSE for $198 last week……… If you have had the original Bluebuds X, you will love this

  • Anyone knows how long the price will stay? If it's a black friday deal it should be around till some time on Saturday?

    • I couldn't find out, sorry mate.

I bought these off Amazon on release day. Overall, I'm pretty happy with them. Sound quality is OK to good, not amazing. Bass is good. Just be realistic - the higher than usual price tag on these are because of their sports-oriented features and not necessarily for their impressive clarity, soundstage, etc. It's an ideal sounding earphone for exercising with - so if you use them for this purpose you will probably love them (not to say you can't use them when you're not exercising of course).

A couple of gripes (nothing major):
    - a slightly longer battery life would have been nice, I use this exclusively for working out, and I find I have to charge these ~ every 4 or 5 days
    - I pair this with my Android phone, which sadly does not display the X2's battery life (there's probably an app to solve that problem)
    - To skip to next/previous track, you need to hold down the volume up/down key for about 2 seconds (You cannot reprogram the buttons). Depending on your music player (I use Sony NW-A25 in the gym), you may not be able to navigate to the previous track in time (you can only rewind the current track).

Despite this, if I had to replace the unit today, I would probably end up buying another pair of X2s.

    A few things to know:
    - Jaybird's online store (and perhaps through Amazon too) have comply foam tips made specifically for the Jaybird X2. These usually last 3 to 6 months depending on how often you use them.
    - This is purely personal preference, I preferred to wear them 'over ear' (that is, the controls will be on your left side) without the fins
