Bambino Mio Birth to Potty Nappy Set $40 Delivered (Was $200) @ Harvey Norman

280

Thanks to jazoom for PriceHipster for highlighting potential bargains.

Hoping for a future when more stores are added to the search engine that bargains will self appear and perhap one day post themselves on OzB.

Seems like a good deal for a quality product. $25 + delivery.

Edit: Postage to WA/TAS/NT seems to be $50 whereas all other states is a flat $15.

Seems like a product from the UK so not much price guidance but looking around this does seem to go for a bit

Must only come from a VIC warehouse.

      I'll update title.

    how do these work?

  • +2

These are excellent, used them for both my kids. Perfect for day time but would only really use Huggies overnight (they just don't leak no matter how much they fill).

We dry paled them for a day or three before washing them (just in a bin with a lid next to the change table), then washed them on hot, which made them entirely clean and then on the line for some sunshine to naturally bleach.

You buy a disposable liner to catch any solids (poo), that's easy to place in a nappy bin like any other waste. They're super cheap for a massive roll.

  • Thanks OP, for the price and the great reviews its worth a shot! Ordered.

  • wow, this is bargain. they usually cost 200+ for a bundle such as this one http://www.real-nappies.com.au/product/birth-to-potty-pack/

    thakns OP, much appreciated.

  • do you think 3 set of this is enough from day one until the potty training?

    • +3

one set should be enough. you would change nappies every 2 hours for newborn so 12 times a day, this allows you to wash every 2 days which is the recommended time frame to wash (or risk mould etc). you don't need to replace covers unless soiled (ie. poo). just wipe the cover clean and replace the inner prefolds. you would change less with older kids. hope this helps! definitely don't need more than one set! :)

      • +2

Thanks for the info yarleyne, appreciate that. I did read somewhere that newborn requires aroubd 10-12 nappies per day. What I didnt know is the 2 days time frame to avoid mould which kinda make sense.

baby due in 10 weeks. $40 doesn't seem too bad.

      ….

      • saw the original post and i feel ashamed as a OzBarginer that i could've saved on postage by teeing up an order in the same city. lol

        • Next time!! Lol

  • Anyone who have used or still using reusable, is it really better for the environment?

    • +1

Landfill of nappies has to be one of the worst things ever if you think about - no hard evidence, but with my son we have used both cloth and disposable. Plus it seems like there would be a ton of chemicals etc that would go into disposable nappies, the constant transportation needed to move the products.

We do have a water shortage though, so washing a load of nappies every two days seems a bit wasteful, but we have front loader to try to mitigate some of the water usage a bit.

It's a toss up I think, but I do know that over the long haul using cloth nappies will save you a TON of money.

      • Thanks for replying. I know there are so many factors to count in from production line to supermarket shelves. They all cost fuel and eventually land fill.

On the other hand as you said, all the water, detergent and electricity used to wash the nappies every 2 or 3 days. Plus the time to hang, dry, fold and store the nappies, where one said in the other post, can use the time to catch some sleep.

No wonder it's a never ending battle between cloth or disposable.

  • thanks. Bought a set as expecting next year! Hope it works!
Do you need to buy liners too? If yes any recommendations?
    Thanks

    • +1

Woolies supermarkets sell nappy liners 100 pack for just under $3.00. Cheapest I've found anywhere.

  • They show as $25 now.
I'm no expert, but it hardly seems enough nappy in the pack to get you from Birth to Potty?
    EDIT: Oh, they are reusable
Mmmmm i don't know many new Mums interested in that, perhaps why they are priced to clear.

    • Plus delivery

    • New mums: actually yes, we have the best of intentions. I lasted about two weeks with cloth nappies. I would have spent my entire $3k Baby Bonus on Huggies from then until toilet training time. Still worth it - I spent the time I would have otherwise been doing washing catching up on sleep (so I wouldn't go postal).

      • Thats my thought exactly. And how easy is it to actually confirm that the nappy is actually clean and free of germ and bacteria? Is there a way?

But I bought one of this pack and we'll see if me and wife can handle it. Our first baby ine 2 weeks time.

  • Expired 😞 , is it out of stock?

    • Looks like its out of stock

      • Was a good deal

  • Such a good deal, I couldn't make it in time. :(

  • Look like it's still available on ebay Harvey Norman http://m.ebay.com.au/itm/Bambino-Mio-Birth-to-Potty-Nappy-Se…

    • I bought it on Ebay. It was $15 shipping to Melbourne on the website but paid $35 on ebay. But better shipping for NT/WA/TAS folks than website. HN customer care told me on chat, that they're out of stock. I hope they honour the orders that are placed.

Deal dishonored… order placed at 1am today. Sad.

Hi, looks like everyone who bought this deal got a refund email from HN. Most people seem to have got an $25 voucher to spend on next purchase. Mine says $25 off next delivery!! That really sucks! I bought the deal on HN on Ebay. Anyone in the same boat?

  • Thanks OP from my wife and I.
We use these everyday since they arrived,
They look cool and they work better than disposables!
