      just bought the fanatec 911 and played prologue for the first time. it does suck. if gt5 is similar. its too much of an arcade racer. i know its a simulator but that doesnt make a difference in this day and age where all the games have good enough physics and graphics to be considered simulators. nfs is so much better and more fun cause they have a variety of racers

        Did you try putting 'simulation' mode on (find it under the 'Options' in the main menu)?
        There is also a professional mode and the option to turn off stability management, etc… before you start the race.

        I do agree that even with all these options on there is still an arcade feel to the game.

        But if you try downloading GT5 academy demo (if it's still available for download that is)
        You'll get a better feel for the racing physics when GT5 finally gets released.
        I've done a number of laps and the game is very unforgiving when you go into a corner too fast or accelerate too much coming out of a corner. Also you'll pretty much want to restart the race if you end up on the grass, it takes forever to get back onto the track.

        I drive in real life and play with the g25 a lower model to g27 and I can tell you that with the correct settings, the game is very close to real life driving.

        Does the fanatec even work with the clutch?

          yeh the fanatec works very well. ive played around with my friends g25. the clutch is alot better and more realistic. the g25 is way too loose. also i dont need a seperate place to mount the clutch cuase it attaches to the wheel.

          in regards to gt5, i dont like how the tires skid so easily coming out of corners. even when u have stability control and the best tyres on, it spins out like crazy when u turn fast. totally not realistic.

    apparently the latest version of the gt academy (final version) has better graphics and physics (there was an updated version on the psn after a week or two)

    I have the G25 wheel, and I can personally vouch that it's a great product. The build quality is faultless. So far my favourite game to use it with is NFS Shift, if you get this wheel , you have to get this game.
