Deal Comment Sections Being Closed

Hi guys,

I've been noticing lately that a lot of deals the comments sections are being closed, for example the two below deals;

Both of the deals are active and I can't see any reason for the comment section to be closed, am I missing something?

It happens if there hasn't had a comment in a certain period of time

I think spammers were targeting old threads comment sections. I know every now and again I would get a notification in an old thread about car accessories or similar that was: "You really should try the great prices and service at www.generic-china-cyber-store.com"
Reporting them as spam got them killed, but it makes sense not to keep threads open for ever.
That said, as you note the first deal is current, and the last comment was only 2 weeks ago - that seems a bit early to close it off.

The rules for closing commenting are:

Deal posted 45 days ago or older

Hasn't been commented for 2 weeks

However if you think you wish to add more to the post, please Report or contact a moderator and we'll re-open the node for commenting. Once you commented, it will stay for another 2 weeks (or more, if there are more follow up comments).
