I was in the market for a cheap, 1 person tent, easy to carry and small.
I found this at Dune Sentry Bivy at Anaconda $70 off.
Opened it at home and was easy to set up and put it back again.
Not very thick at 1.5kg but with a good sleeping bag and mattress should be fine to temps down to 0 celsius.
Any better deals out there ?
That's very light, could be great for hiking long distance, although the temperature rating may exclude use in Tasmanian highlands. Thanks OP, will check it out.
Hmmm, been looking for something like this for some cheap bicycle touring.
I have a similar style 1 person tent. Great, but where possible go for a side entry. Makes it easier to get in and out, rather than having to wriggle. Also if you are using it as a swag (in other words not carying it in a back pack or panniers, and you have the space) put a few rubber camp squares under it before pitching. Keeps you much warmer. I normally put a double layer under the tent if I know I am going somewhere cold. When I use the 'big' tent I put a blanket on the floor so that its nice and cozy when I get out of 'bed'.

Also interested to hear of anyone's experience with this. I bought a stockton swag from Anaconda about 3 years ago and it was absolute rubbish - soaked through from just dew on a clear summer evening (and yes, I did 'cure' it before use).
