Motorola Nexus 6 32GB blue is down to $548 at JB HiFi.

Good price for what is still a very capable device.

I couldn't check stock levels as I am overseas at the moment.

  • Damn. Got one at the $588 maybe 2 weeks ago.

EDIT: People's experiences with price matching guaranteeing at JB HIFI?

    • +1

I second this. I literally bought it a week ago.

        Under 14 days should work

        • Will give them a call tomorrow. Thanks.

        • +1

@tcme: They will give it in a store gift card. Cheers.

  • The one phone to rule them all.

    • +4

      Second best Nexus around ;)

      • the best??

        • Google it.

  • +7

Amazon sold this for US$200 on Black Friday, unfortunately no shipping to Australia.

    • +6

It's US model though, no band 28. And it's US warranty only.

      But I bought 1 anyway…:)

  • Love mine, it's a terrific phone.

      • +10

Mic Cullen did say terrific phone, so it obviously won't be an iPhone.

        • +1

Oh dear, here we go again

        • +1

          @blibster:

Don't mention that here, save it for the up to 50% off Delivery Hero deal that will be posted on OzBargain tomorrow at around midday :)

        • -3

Well can't be android. Don't know much about windows but if it aint an iPhone windows phones must rock.

  • +3

No where near as good as the amazon deal where it was 199 usd even factoring in shipping through a freigh forwarder.

    • +1

The US variant won't support all of the 4G bands we need in AU…

  • +9

Plan to buy 6 at first due to the price, got 6p by accident. Glad that i made a right decision. Add $200 and get a 6p. You won't regret it.

    • +1

      6 phones? Wow!

      • and i thought i am the only one with 6phones at a time.. :(

        • Got 6 phones for whole family. LOL

    • Is the 6p available for $750?

  • +2

Great phone. Got it for AUD 400 in the last ebay deal 2 months ago! Been using Nexus 1 till this nexus 6.

    • +2

Wow the jump must be crazy for you windows7.

      • +1

And I thought my 2 year old phone was getting long in the tooth.

        • LOL yup, Nexus One is just too far away!!!

    • +2

      Big, yes.
Fat? No. It's quite slim for its size…bezels around the screen are not big, and thickness even at the chunkiest part is 10mm.
Ugly? Hell no! It looks quite slick. Whack on a transparent TPU case and the dark blue is quite a nice colour.

  • +1

Photos in low light/night are junk on this. no amount of software can save it.

Plus side is the big screen and its also a pretty good table spin top

    • If the hardware is lacking, no amount of software will rectify the shortfalls.

    • +4

Mediocre cameras has been the hallmark of Nexus Phones for a while now (Nexus 4,5,6)…the 6P and 5X seem to buck the trend.

  • it's cheaper online. still a cheap price for in store though

  • I bought it for $588 a couple of weeks ago from Good Guys. Luckily I was able to claim TRS and use the $100 eBay voucher from the Woolies C&C deal to bring the net price down to $435.

That said, For Aussie stock with local warranty, this is still a decent price, considering the cheapest 32GB Nexus 6P is $744 through Optus. The 6P is indeed a better phone, but is it $200 better? That's rather subjective.

    • 6P is probably only $50 better, but definitely it is $150 newer.

      • +9

        What's that even mean?

        • +3

means, tech wise, it might only worth $50 more than nexus 6, while since it is newer than nexus 6, you are paying more money for a newer phone/technology..and in this case, $200 extra, 50 goes to tech, and 150 goes to because it's a newer phone.

        • @0031nek: Depends how you value the tech, the crap camera alone makes it worthwhile for me to pay $200 more.

I get your point though, the Nexus 6 was the same price as the 6P when it came out a year ago. I doubt the tech has dropped so much in value.

    • Got 6p with home broadband bundle and tpg discount. Roughly calculated around $650 with 3Gb data. Maybe an option if You after broadband and from tpg too.

      • i didn't know that!! man, i gotta go grab one now..thanks for sharing this info!!

      • Hi can u give some details about this? Which ISP and how did u get it? And 32gb?

      • This sounds awesome! Please let us know the details!

        • Optus $75 broadband unlimit + $65 Nexus6p plan of 3Gb -$10tpg-$10bundle

          All rates per month

          Basing on 24 month plan

There is a $125 initial fee for broadband.

For phone per month is $45 .if you take out usage of $20 then $25×24=$600

  • Android enjoyed has the 64gb model for $511 plus postage $25

I assume grey imports but still xt1100

Definitely prices are coming down now

  • +5

good deal if for some reason you MUST have the N6.
LG G4 is way better value for about $100 less.

    • +4

Local stock LG G4 I think was around this price.
I personally think comparing local stocks to $400 LG G4 from eBay and other deals (grey imported ones) is unfair.

G4 has worse GPU and slightly better CPU. For RAM and SoC, I don't think it's possible to say G4 is better. Depending on the focus of the benchmark, for example, you get Snapdragon 805 being above 808 (i.e.: http://www.anandtech.com/show/9379/the-lg-g4-review/6).

You do get better camera from G4, micro SD card support and removable battery, that said, I don't think you could say "way better value" when the price point is same. Some people would put "Nexus" above any phones, Qi Charging without any additional cases and front facing speakers and better GPU (as performance hit from QHD is not negligible at this point in time) would be a plus as well. The point I am trying to make is, I personally don't see LG G4 to be absolutely better than Nexus 6, vice versa.

      I didn't neg you btw.

    • +1

I think perhaps the biggest attraction for Nexus phones would be the availability of newer android versions directly from Google without any hassle, than struggling with some flawed custom ROMs from the internet or living with an old android on your 'overpriced cutting edge' phone when the manufacturer stops providing updates after 6 months (especially Samsung!)

  • +5

I am waiting for another LG G4 deal.

    • i'm waiting for a other G Flex 2 deal :)

  • +1

I personally don't recommend this phone after owning it for 2 months. It is just too big on the hands and the battery is downright rubbish. You are looking at 1.5-2 hrs SOT. The camera is all round rubbish too.

    Get the 6P instead.

    • +1

      1.5-2 hrs SOT

You clearly have a faulty device. Mine currently has 17% battery, with 3hr 47m screen on time.

Also, the size is perfect. Grow bigger hands.

      • +5

Mate, everyone's entitled to their own opinions, no need to crap on others just because they're different to yours. It's possible his phone usage is just different from yours.

As a potential buyer, I'm interested in hearing both the good and bad.

        • -1

          Chill, Bro.

        • I know all too well perils of owning a phablet and having small asian hands. its how my cracked screen came about lols

    • I bought the N6 about 2 months ago also. Currently have 45% charge left from 1.5 hours of screen on time. The size of the phone took me a couple of weeks to get used to — I love it when I use it as a tablet but it is definitely hard to use one handed as a phone.

I bought my wife the LG G4 a couple of weeks ago for around the same price ($550ish) and I'm jealous of some of its features — namely a better camera and sd card slot. It is also a much better size to handle.

      • The G4 is best phone I've ever owned. Don't be fooled by the crappy soc, lg works magic out of Android and it can even give the Samsung exynos and A9 a run for it money in real world use. The only neg I have is battery life, on a good day you lucky to break 4 hours screen time.

    • i'm sorry to hear that, in my situation it's completely an opposite scenario, my wife is 1.56cm (can't see how big her palm will grow into), and she had been using my birthday gift to her, a Nexus 6, bought from thegoodguys, almost flawless, we are running a restaurant having facebook as online ordering portal and she's the one handling all those orders, from sms to facebook, phone calls, messages, vibers etc, plus or minus 5hrs screen on time (yup, you'll see her looking at her phone ALL THE BLOODY TIME!).
I'll charge her phone overnight everynight after she fell asleep and she can have screen on + standy time of 9.5hours. Almost everyday and every season, almost the same performance from the Nexus 6.
Why did i say almost flawless? Coming from Sony Z Ultra, get used to big screen, she thinks that Nexus 6 is a bit heavier and thicker therefore kinda slippery for her to hold it well..in the end she prefer the sleek design of the Ultra, other than that she loves the camera, screen, volume, etc etc..
guess what, she said she hates the software update notifications all the time.. lol

      • +3

Haha I think the phone is bigger than your wife 😄

        • oops..well, you got me!

  • +3

Off topic!: Wow you're in Pakistan!

        • +1

Zylam, how could you tell OP was in Pak?

      • When ozbargainers are overseas, a flag of where they are appears next to their name when you look at it in the "votes" section.

Try it for yourself, tab the votes on this deal and run through the list, you'll see who's overseas. You can also see from the votes on comments.

  • Hate nexus, I've had a samsung nexus 2 which drives me mad. I'll break it in pieces one day.

    • +2

out of curiosity, may i know what phone you are using now??

      • Galaxy S4

        • I have the Galaxy S4 and it's terrible, here's the past year and a half:

          • Simcard reader broke
          • Battery Swollen
          • Sdcard reader failed
          • Yellow bars

To be fair I kept getting refurbished replacements.

    • If you mean Nexus S, I didn't mind that phone…I used a Nexus S for a couple of years, then Dad used it for another 2-odd years before it fell from his hands and the screen cracked. Except the broken screen, it worked pretty flawlessly.

    • +4

Bases hate for Nexus on a 4 year old device, goes and buys another phone manufactured by the same OEM. Logic!

  • I've had a Nexus 6P and now have a Nexus 6. To be honest I prefer the 6 due to the slightly bigger screen which is why I sold the 6P.
The size of the 6 doesn't bother me but that being said, I don't have girly hands.
To be honest, the camera is quite average on both, my Note 5 had a much better camera.

  • I picked up a 64gb from UK (worth checking hotukdeals if someone can post to oz) coming from a rooted flashed G3 with ok'ish battery life the N6 is like night and day, I'm getting 20+ hrs on battery with 3-4 sot, occasionally higher, very impressive, after using Z Ultra, Nokia 1520 size is very subjective, if your unsure about the increase from your current phone, search phone comparison tool, handy for visual reference.

  • Can anyone guide me about claiming TRS, what is the time limit to be able to claim? I am planning to go overseas in mid january

    • +1

60 days from date of purchase…

    • You must depart Australia within 60 days of the invoice date, and a minimum spend of $300 at a given retailer.

      • Thanks

    • if you're departing from Melbourne, make sure that you've downloaded the TRS app on your phone and do the refund via the app earlier, you'll thank me for that. It will save your heaps (at least 45mins of your time queuing depending on the time you're departing)

      • Thanks mate

  • The phone price is reduced across the globe but this phone has different compatability guidlines to every country which is why i still feel the price in australia is a bit high than in USA or India or China..Camera is decent.

    • There's 2 US variants (US GSM and Verizon), and 1 variant for the rest of the world.

  • Couldn't find one in store. Was not on display. Must be online only?

    • Try buying online for click and collect at a store..it should be able to tell you which stores have any.

      Also try ringing around stores.

  • No longer valid, will there be any more deals on this phone? I know the 6P is out now and many places are no longer stocking the 6. I'm unsure of whether to wait for another clearance, or to grab one of the last models available selling from Mobileciti at this price (~550).

Not interesting in non-nexus devices, and not really wanting to pay the extra $200 for the 6P.
